چکیده

It is commonly believed that the Drude conductivity is not renormalized by many-body interactions. To the contrary, we show that for impure metals the Drude conductivity is decreased by a temperaturedependent factor proportional to the electron-phonon coupling l. We demonstrate this effect by both the linear response and the quantum transport approaches. This effect, while comparable to the bare Drude conductivity, will be masked by the large temperature dependence of electron-phonon scattering. We expect such many-body corrections to other transport coefficients.

Effect of electron-phonon interaction on spectroscopies in graphene

We calculate the effect of the electron-phonon interaction on the electronic density of states DOS , the quasiparticle properties, and on the optical conductivity of graphene. In metals with DOS constant on the scale of phonon energies, the electron-phonon renormalizations drop out of the dressed DOS, however, due to the Dirac nature of the electron dynamics in graphene, the band DOS is linear ...

A NUMERICAL RENORMALIZATION GROUP APPROACH FOR AN ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION

A finite chain calculation in terms of Hubbard X-operators is explored by setting up a vibronic Harniltonian. The model conveniently transformed into a form so that in the case of strong coupling a numerical renormalization group approach is applicable. To test the technique, a one particle Green function is calculated for the model Harniltonian

Infrared studies of a La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 single crystal: Optical magnetoconductivity in a half-metallic ferromagnet

The infrared reflectivity of a La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 single crystal is studied over a broad range of temperatures ~78–340 K!, magnetic fields ~0–16 T!, and wave numbers (20– 9000 cm). The optical conductivity gradually changes from a Drude-like behavior to a broad peak feature near 5000 cm in the ferromagnetic state below the Curie temperature TC5307 K. Various features of the optical conductivity b...

Effects of optical and surface polar phonons on the optical conductivity of doped graphene

Using the Kubo linear response formalism, we study the effects of intrinsic graphene optical and surface polar phonons (SPPs) on the optical conductivity of doped graphene. We find that inelastic electron-phonon scattering contributes significantly to the phonon-assisted absorption in the optical gap. At room temperature, this midgap absorption can be as large as 20–25% of the universal ac cond...

On the universal AC optical background in graphene

The latest experiments have confirmed the theoretically expected universal value πe/2h of the ac conductivity of graphene and have revealed departures of the quasiparticle dynamics from predictions for the Dirac fermions in idealized graphene. We present analytical expressions for the ac conductivity in graphene which allow one to study how it is affected by interactions, temperature, external ...
