Taylor Approximation for Hybrid Systems

چکیده
Wepropose a new approximation technique forHybridAutomata. Given anyHybridAutomatonH, we callApprox(H , k) the Polynomial Hybrid Automaton obtained by approximating each formula in H with the formulae k obtained by replacing the functions in with their Taylor polynomial of degree k. We prove that Approx(H , k) is an over-approximation ofH. We study the conditions ensuring that, given any > 0, some k0 exists such that, for all k > k0, the “distance” between any vector satisfying k and at least one vector satisfying is less than . We study also conditions ensuring that, given any > 0, some k0 exists such that, for all k > k0, the “distance” between any configuration reached by Approx(H , k) in n steps and at least one configuration reached by H in n steps is less than . © 2007 Elsevier Inc. New Optimal Observer Design Based on State Prediction for a Class of Non-linear Systems Through Approximation
This paper deals with the optimal state observer of non-linear systems based on a new strategy. Despite the development of state prediction in linear systems, state prediction for non-linear systems is still challenging. In this paper, to obtain a future estimation of the system states, initially Taylor series expansion of states in their receding horizons was achieved to any specified order an...
متن کاملExtending Taylor Approximation to Hybrid Systems with Integrals
In [10, 11] we proposed a technique to approximate Hybrid Automata (HA) with Polynomial HA. The idea was to replace functions appearing in formulae with their Taylor Polynomials. Here we extend this technique to HA with formulae admitting integral functions. We prove that we get over-approximations of the original HA. We study the conditions ensuring that: 1. the “distance” between the formulae...
متن کاملA functional approximation for the M/G/1/N queue
This paper presents a new approach to the functional approximation of the M/G/1/N built on a Taylor series approach. Specifically, we establish an approximative expression for the remainder term of the Taylor series that can be computed in an efficient manner. As we will illustrate with numerical examples, the resulting Taylor series approximation turns out to be of practical value.
متن کاملDegenerate kernel approximation method for solving Hammerstein system of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind
Degenerate kernel approximation method is generalized to solve Hammerstein system of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. This method approximates the system of integral equations by constructing degenerate kernel approximations and then the problem is reduced to the solution of a system of algebraic equations. Convergence analysis is investigated and on some test problems, the propo...
متن کاملFlow*: An Analyzer for Non-linear Hybrid Systems
The tool FLOW* performs Taylor model-based flowpipe construction for non-linear (polynomial) hybrid systems. FLOW* combines well-known Taylor model arithmetic techniques for guaranteed approximations of the continuous dynamics in each mode with a combination of approaches for handling mode invariants and discrete transitions. FLOW* supports a wide variety of optimizations including adaptive ste...
متن کاملSymbolic Model Checking of Hybrid Systems Using Template Polyhedra
We propose techniques for the verification of hybrid systems using template polyhedra, i.e., polyhedra whose inequalities have fixed expressions but with varying constant terms. Given a hybrid system description and a set of template linear expressions as inputs, our technique constructs over-approximations of the reachable states using template polyhedra. Therefore, operations used in symbolic...
