چکیده
Cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR) is a relatively common problem after middle age,'-3 and is characterised by pain, segmental sensory disturbance, and motor deficits in the upper limbs. In acute cases, neck pain and stiffness are often present, and exertion or neck injury is the usual preceding event. We report a case ofCSR precipitated by decompression sickness (DCS), which we believe has not hitherto been documented.

Posterior Cervical Microscopic Foraminotomy and Discectomy with Laser for Unilateral Radiculopathy
Surgical decompression for cervical radiculopathy includes anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, anterior or posterior cervical foraminotomy, and cervical arthroplasty after decompression. The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of a CO2 laser in posterior-approach surgery for unilateral cervical radiculopathy. From January 2006 to December 2008, 12 consecutive patients with uni...

STUDY DESIGN National population-based cohort study. OBJECTIVE To compare the reoperation rates between cervical spondylotic radiculopathy and myelopathy in a national population of patients. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA There is an inherently low incidence of reoperation after surgery for cervical degenerative disease. Therefore, it is difficult to sufficiently power studies to detect differ...
متن کاملEffect of different surgical methods on headache associated with cervical spondylotic myelopathy and/or radiculopathy
BACKGROUND Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, total disk replacement and open door laminoplasty have been widely used to treat patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy and/or radiculopathy. In our clinical practice, many patients with cervical spondylosis also complain of headache, and wish to know if the surgical treatment for cervical spondylosis can also alleviate this symptom. Co...
متن کاملRadiculopathy after laminectomy for cervical compression myelopathy.
Postoperative radiculopathy is a complication of posterior cervical decompression associated with tethering of the nerve root. We reviewed retrospectively 287 consecutive patients with cervical compression myelopathy who had been treated by multilevel cervical laminectomy and identified 37 (12.9%) with postoperative radiculopathy. There were 27 men and ten women with a mean age of 56 years at t...
