Effects of renal hypertension on coronary blood flow, cardiac oxygen consumption and related circulatory dynamics of the dog.

چکیده
A comparative study is presented on the circulatory dynamics of the renal hypertensive state, the stability (repeatability) of the findings in a given subject, the effect of anemia as a complicating factor and the amount of cardiac hypertrophy present in each animal at the end of the series of observations. The results indicate that in nonanemic renal hypertensive dogs with cardiac hypertrophy the coronary blood flow and cardiac oxygen consumption are the same per unit weight of inyocardial tissue as in normal dogs. However, when a mild chronic anemia is a complicating factor, the coronary blood flow and the myoeardial oxygen uptake are both increased. The coronary sinus venous oxygen saturation is essentially unchanged in the nonanemic hypertensives, whereas in the anemic hypertensives it is significantly lowered.

The Hemodynamic Effects of Drugs on Myocardial Oxygen Use
The circulatory responses to high equinalgesic doses of morphine are compared with those of pethidin. The decrease in mean arterial blood pressure in case of morphine was 28p.c., with a paralleled and identical decrease in total peripheral resistance and no negative inotropic effects. Pethidine decreased blood pressure 54p.c., as a result of peripheral vasodilation of 46p.c. and a sharp drop...

Effect of nicotine on the coronary blood flow and related circulatory parameters. Correlative study in normal dogs and dogs with coronary insufficiency.
• It has been shown that nicotine and tobacco smoke in the normal dog and human subject increase the coronary blood flow." This is associated with an increase in myocardial oxygen consumption and an increase in cardiac work, whereas coronary resistance declines. A higher oxygen demand caused by the increase in cardiac work can readily be compensated by increase in coronary blood flow in the nor...
متن کاملCardiac output, oxygen consumption and renal blood flow in essential hypertension.
Cardiac output, oxygen consumption, total blood volume and mean circulatory transit time were investigated at rest in men with sustained essential hypertension in comparison with normal subjects of the same age and sex. In normal subjects and in patients with hypertension, oxygen consumption was positively correlated to cardiac output. In hypertensives, the slope of the curve was significantly ...

Arterial drug concentration distribution determines local toxicity. The safety issues dealt with Drug-Eluting Stents (DESs) reveal the needs for investigation about the effective factors contributing to fluctuations in arterial drug uptake. The current study focused on the importance of hypertension as an important and controversial risk factor among researchers on the efficacy of Heparin-Eluti...
