چکیده

Dynamic algebras combine the classes of Boolean (B ∨ ′ 0) and regular (R ∪ ; ∗) algebras into a single finitely axiomatized variety (B R 3) resembling an R-module with “scalar” multiplication 3. The basic result is that ∗ is reflexive transitive closure, contrary to the intuition that this concept should require quantifiers for its definition. Using this result we give several examples of dynamic algebras arising naturally in connection with additive functions, binary relations, state trajectories, languages, and flowcharts. The main result is that free dynamic algebras are residually finite (i.e. factor as a subdirect product of finite dynamic algebras), important because finite separable dynamic algebras are isomorphic to Kripke structures. Applications include a new completeness proof for the Segerberg axiomatization of propositional dynamic logic, and yet another notion of regular algebra.

Functorial Constructions for Non-associative Algebras with Applications to Quasi-bialgebras

The aim of this paper is to establish a contravariant adjunction between the category of quasibialgebras and a suitable full subcategory of dual quasi-bialgebras, adapting the notion of finite dual to this framework. Various functorial constructions involving non-associative algebras and non-coassociative coalgebras are then carried out. Several examples illustrating our methods are expounded a...

Derivations of UP-algebras by means of UP-endomorphisms

The notion of $f$-derivations of UP-algebras is introduced, some useful examples are discussed, and related properties are investigated. Moreover, we show that the fixed set and the kernel of $f$-derivations are UP-subalgebras of UP-algebras,and also give examples to show that the two sets are not UP-ideals of UP-algebras in general.

Nonrepresentable Sequential Algebras

The sequential calculus of von Karger and Hoare [18] is designed for reasoning about sequential phenomena, dynamic or temporal logic, and concurrent or reactive systems. Unlike the classical calculus of relations, it has no operation for forming the converse of a relation. Sequential algebras [15] are algebras that satisfy certain equations in the sequential calculus. One standard example of a ...

Flow Equivalence of Graph Algebras

This paper explores the effect of various graphical constructions upon the associated graph C∗-algebras. The graphical constructions in question arise naturally in the study of flow equivalence for topological Markov chains. We prove that outsplittings give rise to isomorphic graph algebras, and in-splittings give rise to strongly Morita equivalent C∗-algebras. We generalise the notion of a del...

Pbw Deformations of Braided Products Chelsea Walton and Sarah Witherspoon

We present new examples of deformations of smash product algebras that arise from Hopf algebra actions on pairs of module algebras. These examples involve module algebras that are Koszul, in which case a PBW theorem we established previously applies. Our construction generalizes several ‘double’ constructions appearing in the literature, including Weyl algebras and some types of Cherednik algeb...
