چکیده
Received January 2010 Accepted February 2010 INTRODUCTION Percutaneous renal procedures have become an established approach for diagnosis and treatment of a number of renal pathologic lesions. Hemorrhage and vascular lesions are the most serious complications. The reported incidence of postoperative hemorrhage requiring selective angio-embolization for bleeding control is 1.2%.(1) Delayed bleeding after percutaneous procedures is almost always secondary to pseudoaneurysms or arteriovenous fistulas.(2) We report a case of pseudoaneurysm following percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) that caused recurrent episodes of severe hematuria after the operation, requiring embolization, but it resolved spontaneously.

Intrarenal pseudoaneurysm after percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Angiotomographic assessment and endovascular management.
We report a case of intrarenal pseudoaneurysm of the right kidney after percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in supine position. Diagnosis was established by angiotomography with a 3-D reconstruction. Treatment was successfully achieved by endovascular occlusion using N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate.

INTRODUCTION Intrarenal pseudoaneurysm is a rare, yet clinically significant, complication of percutaneous nephrolithotomy. A high index of clinical suspicion is necessary in order to recognize pseudoaneurysm as the cause of delayed bleeding after percutaneous nephrolithotomy and angiography confirms the diagnosis which allows endovascular management. CASE PRESENTATION We present a case of a ...
متن کاملIntrarenal Pseudoaneurysm After Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy at Solitary Kidney
INTRODUCTION Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is a standard, safe, and efficient method for removing large renal calculi. Despite development of endourologic equipment, complications of the PCNL are still prevalent. Even though therapeutic modalities such as mini-micro PCNL have been developed in recent years, the complications are a serious concern yet. The most important complication is he...
متن کاملTraumatic Supratrochlear Artery Pseudoaneurysm With Spontaneous Resolution
Background: Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the supratrochlear artery is a rare lesion. It manifests, as a painless mass, in the frontal region following trauma. The unusual incidence and confusing presentation require the clinicians to thoroughly understand its presentation and diagnosis. Diagnosis is typically made on history and physical examination, but it can be confirmed by duplex ultraso...
متن کاملPseudoaneurysm following percutaneous nephrolithotomy.
Delayed hemorrhage following percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is secondary to pseudoaneurysm or arteriovenous fistula, which happens in less than 1% of PCNLs. Predisposing factors are: medial puncture instead of posterolateral puncture, arteriosclerosis, and hypertension. Definite diagnosis is made by angiography and embolization, as a definite treatment, can be done through the same angiogr...
