Language Preservation Problems in Parametric Timed Automata

چکیده
Parametric timed automata (PTA) are a powerful formalism to model and reason about concurrent systems with some unknown timing delays. In this paper, we address the (untimed) languageand trace-preservation problems: given a reference parameter valuation, does there exist another parameter valuation with the same untimed language (or trace)? We show that these problems are undecidable both for general PTA, and even for the restricted class of L/U-PTA. On the other hand, we exhibit decidable subclasses: 1-clock PTA, and 1-parameter deterministic L-PTA and U-PTA.

MTL-Model Checking of One-Clock Parametric Timed Automata is Undecidable
Parametric timed automata extend timed automata (Alur and Dill, 1991) in that they allow the specification of parametric bounds on the clock values. Since their introduction in 1993 by Alur, Henzinger, and Vardi, it is known that the emptiness problem for parametric timed automata with one clock is decidable, whereas it is undecidable if the automaton uses three or more parametric clocks. The p...
متن کاملParametric Interrupt Timed Automata
Parametric reasoning is particularly relevant for timed models, but very often leads to undecidability of reachability problems. We propose a parametrised version of Interrupt Timed Automata (an expressive model incomparable to Timed Automata), where polynomials of parameters can occur in guards and updates. We prove that different reachability problems, including robust reachability, are decid...
متن کاملMCMT in the Land of Parameterized Timed Automata
Timed networks are parametrised systems of timed automata. Solving reachability problems for this class of systems allows one to prove safety properties regardless of the number of processes in the network. Usually, these problems are attacked in the following way: the number n of processes in the network is fixed and a tool for timed automata (like Uppaal) is used to check the desired property...

متن کاملLanguage Emptiness of Continuous-Time Parametric Timed Automata
Parametric timed automata extend the standard timed automata with the possibility to use parameters in the clock guards. In general, if the parameters are real-valued, the problem of language emptiness of such automata is undecidable even for various restricted subclasses. We thus focus on the case where parameters are assumed to be integervalued, while the time still remains continuous. On the...
