چکیده

This paper addresses networked control problems which arise in the coordinated motion control of autonomous and semiautonomous mobile agents, where the sensors and controllers are geographically separated and connected by digital communication channels carrying a finite number of bits per unit time. Different from the existing results, this case with quantized output measurements and limited data rates is considered. A quantization, coding and control scheme is presented under communication constraints. In particular, it is shown that the unstable plant may be stabilizable in the mean square sense if the data rate of the channel is greater than the lower bound proposed in our results. Simulation results show the validity of the proposed scheme.

MODELING AND CONTROL OF THE COORDINATED MOTION OF A GROUP OF AUTONOMOUS MOBILE ROBOTS by NUSRETTIN GULEC

The coordinated motion of a group of autonomous mobile robots for the achievement of a coordinated task has received significant research interest in the last decade. Avoiding the collisions of the robots with the obstacles and other members of the group is one of the main problems in the area as previous studies have revealed. Substantial amount of research effort has been concentrated on defi...

A multiagent data warehousing (MADWH) and multiagent data mining (MADM) approach to brain modeling and neurofuzzy control

Based on the hypothesis that the brain is a society of semiautonomous neural agents and full autonomy is the result of coordination of semiautonomous functionalities, a multiagent data warehousing (MADWH) and multiagent data mining (MADM) approach is presented for brain modeling and illustrated with robot motion control. An algorithm named Neighbor-Miner is proposed for MADWH and MADM. The algo...

Control and kinematic design of multi-degree-of freedom mobile robots with compliant linkage

Multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) vehicles have many potential advantages over conventional (i.e., 2-DOF) vehicles. For example, MDOF vehicles can travel sideway s and they can negotiate tight turns more easily. In addition, some MDOF designs provide better payload capability, better traction, and improved static and dynamic stability. However, MDOF vehicles with more than three degrees-offreedom ...
