A Metric for Trusted Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper proposes a model for quantifying and reasoning about trust in IT equipment. Trust is considered to be a subjective belief, and the model consists of a belief model and set of operators for combining beliefs. Security evaluation is being discussed as a method for determining trust. Trust may also be based on other types of evidence such as for example ISO 9000 certi cation, and the model can be used to quantify and compare the contribution to the total trust each type of evidence provides.

Definition of General Operator Space and The s-gap Metric for Measuring Robust Stability of Control Systems with Nonlinear Dynamics
In the recent decades, metrics have been introduced as mathematical tools to determine the robust stability of the closed loop control systems. However, the metrics drawback is their limited applications in the closed loop control systems with nonlinear dynamics. As a solution in the literature, applying the metric theories to the linearized models is suggested. In this paper, we show that usin...
متن کاملAutonomic and Trusted Computing Paradigms
The emerging autonomic computing technology has been hailed by world-wide researchers and professionals in academia and industry. Besides four key capabilities, well known as self-CHOP, we propose an additional self-regulating capability to explicitly emphasize the policy-driven self-manageability and dynamic policy derivation and enactment. Essentially, these five capabilities, coined as Self-...
متن کاملTrusted Mobile Computing
Mobility leads to unplanned interactions between computer systems as people use devices to access services in varied environments. Before two systems agree to interact, they must trust that each will satisfy the security and privacy requirements of the other. In this paper we introduce trust overlays, a systematic approach to building such trust. Our solution exploits the increasing availabilit...
متن کاملOpen Trusted Health Informatics Structure (OTHIS)
The potential for development and deployment of trusted health information systems (HIS) based upon intrinsically more secure computer system architectures than those in general use, as commodity level systems, in today's marketplace is investigated in this paper. A proposal is made for a viable, trusted architecture for HIS, entitled the “Open Trusted Health Informatics Structure (OTHIS)”, bas...
متن کاملA CHARACTERIZATION FOR METRIC TWO-DIMENSIONAL GRAPHS AND THEIR ENUMERATION
The textit{metric dimension} of a connected graph $G$ is the minimum number of vertices in a subset $B$ of $G$ such that all other vertices are uniquely determined by their distances to the vertices in $B$. In this case, $B$ is called a textit{metric basis} for $G$. The textit{basic distance} of a metric two dimensional graph $G$ is the distance between the elements of $B$. Givi...
متن کاملON COMPACTNESS AND G-COMPLETENESS IN FUZZY METRIC SPACES
In [Fuzzy Sets and Systems 27 (1988) 385-389], M. Grabiec in- troduced a notion of completeness for fuzzy metric spaces (in the sense of Kramosil and Michalek) that successfully used to obtain a fuzzy version of Ba- nachs contraction principle. According to the classical case, one can expect that a compact fuzzy metric space be complete in Grabiecs sense. We show here that this is not the case,...
