Semantic Web Search Engine

چکیده
In this report, we discuss the architecture and implementation of the Semantic Web Search Engine (SWSE). Following traditional search engine architecture, SWSE consists of crawling, data enhancing, indexing and a user interface for search, browsing and retrieval of information; unlike traditional search engines, SWSE operates over RDF Web data (loosely also known as Linked Data) which implies unique challenges for the system design, architecture, algorithms, implementation and user interface. In particular, many challenges exist in adopting Semantic Web technologies for Web data: the unique challenges of the Web (in terms of scale, unreliability, inconsistency and noise) are largely overlooked by the current Semantic Web standards. In this report, we detail the current SWSE system, initially detailing the architecture and later elaborating upon the function, design, implementation and performance of each individual component. In so doing, we also give an insight into how current Semantic Web standards can be tailored, in a best-effort manner, for use on Web data. Throughout, we offer evaluation and complementary argumentation to support our design choices, and also offer discussion on future directions and open research questions. Later, we also provide candid discussion relating to the diffculties currently faced in bringing such a search engine into the mainstream, and lessons learnt from roughly five years working on the Semantic Web Search Engine project. 1Digital Enterprise Research Institute, National University of Ireland, Galway E-mail: {firstname.lastname}@deri.org 2Institut of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods – AFIB, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology E-mail: [email protected] Acknowledgements: This work was supported by Science Foundation Ireland under Grant No. SFI/08/CE/I1380 (Lion-2) and by an IRCSET grant. Query Architecture Expansion in Web Using Fuzzy Multi Domain Ontology
Due to the increasing web, there are many challenges to establish a general framework for data mining and retrieving structured data from the Web. Creating an ontology is a step towards solving this problem. The ontology raises the main entity and the concept of any data in data mining. In this paper, we tried to propose a method for applying the "meaning" of the search system, But the problem ...
متن کاملQuery expansion based on relevance feedback and latent semantic analysis
Web search engines are one of the most popular tools on the Internet which are widely-used by expert and novice users. Constructing an adequate query which represents the best specification of users’ information need to the search engine is an important concern of web users. Query expansion is a way to reduce this concern and increase user satisfaction. In this paper, a new method of query expa...
متن کاملSemantic Navigator: Use of Semantic Data in Web Navigation
Semantic web search engines can take advantage of machineunderstandable data published on the Web to provide more precise search results and advanced query capabilities. Semantic data embedded in web documents (serialized as RDFa or microformats, for example) can be used in conjunction with a semantic web search engine to provide a better web navigation experience. We present Semantic Navigator...
متن کاملA Survey on Semantic Web Search Engine
The tremendous growth in the volume of data and with the terrific growth of number of web pages, traditional search engines now a days are not appropriate and not suitable anymore. Search engine is the most important tool to discover any information in World Wide Web. Semantic Search Engine is born of traditional search engine to overcome the above problem. The Semantic Web is an extension of t...
متن کاملMOSSE: A Multi Ontological Semantic Search Engine
Search is one of the main motivations behind semantic web. A lot of proposals on semantic web search engines have been appeared in recent years but most of them are restricted to a limited context of web. Here we propose a scalable Multi Ontological Semantic Search Engine to conquer this problem. In addition some components of this architecture have been implemented and their results are reported.
متن کاملArchitecting a Search Engine for the Semantic Web
Since its emergence in the early 1990s, the World Wide Web has rapidly evolved into a global information space of incomparable size. Keyword-based search engines such as GoogleTM index as many webpages as possible for the benefit of human users. Sophisticated as such search engines have become, they are still often unable to bridge the gap between HTML and the human. Tim Berners-Lee envisions t...
