Isothermal Martensitic Transformation as an Internal-Stress-Increasing Process

چکیده
Based on the results that the magnitude of the stabilization of retained austenite increases with increasing the amount of martensite transformed, it has been assumed that the martensitic transformation is accompanied with an increase in internal resisting stress which subsequently results in the stabilization of retained austenite. By simplifying this internal resisting stress to be a type of hydrostatic compressive stress acting on retained austenite due to surrounding martensite plates, a thermodynamical analysis for an isothermal martensitic transformation under applied hydrostatic pressure has been performed. The calculated results, to some extent, show a good agreement with the experimental data.

Stress-Assisted Isothermal Martensitic Transformation Application to TRIP Steels
Low-temperature plastic flow in TRIP steels has been found to be controlled by stress-assisted isothermal martensitic transformation. For these conditions, the thermodynamics and kinetic theory of martensitic transformations leads directly to constitutive relations predicting the dependence of flow stress on temperature, strain, strain-rate, and stress-state, consistent with the observed behavi...

The kinetics of martensitic transformation in austenitic Fe-Ni-Mo alloys depends on the carbon content. Analysis of carbon redistribution between f.c.c. solid solution and dislocation has been carried out with the help of internal friction (amplitude and temperature effects) study and stress relaxation tests. The martensitic transformation was proved by magnetic induction and thermal differenti...

If the shape memory alloy is subjected to the subloop loading under the stress-controlled condition, creep and creep recovery can appear based on the martensitic transformation. In the design of shape memory alloy elements, these deformation properties are important since the deflection of shape memory alloy elements can change under constant stress. The conditions for the progress of the marte...
