Decentralized Radio Resource Management for Dense Heterogeneous Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Heterogeneous network (HetNet) consisting of many small base stations (SBSs) within a present macro base station (MBS) is considered. The impact of SBS power on/off is discussed on network power consumption, throughput, and handover, and also the decentralized dynamic channel assignment. Keywords— heterogeneous network; power on/off; handover; throughput; channel assignment

Decentralized spectrum and radio resource management enabled by an on-demand Cognitive Pilot Channel
This paper presents a framework to achieve an efficient dynamic and decentralized spectrum and radio resource usage in heterogeneous wireless network scenarios. The envisaged technical solution follows a layered approach, where Joint Radio Resource Management (JRRM) and Advanced Spectrum Management (ASM) mechanisms are identified at both intra and inter-operator level. The importance of cogniti...
متن کاملCross-Entropy-Based Energy-Efficient Radio Resource Management in HetNets with Coordinated Multiple Points
Energy efficiency and spectrum efficiency are the most important issues for future mobile systems. Heterogeneous networks (HetNets) with coordinated multiple points (CoMP) are wildly approved as a promising solution to meet increasing demands of mobile data traffic and to reduce energy consumptions. However, hyper-dense deployments and complex coordination mechanisms introduce several challenge...
متن کاملEfficient QoS-Driven Resource Allocation in Integrated CDMA/WLAN Networks - An Autonomic Architecture
In this paper the problem of proficient joint radio resource management in an integrated WLAN/CDMA-cellular heterogeneous environment is considered. Nodes’/Networks’ autonomicity is envisioned as the enabler for devising a proficient QoS-aware service orientated wireless interworking architecture founded on a common utility based framework that provides enhanced flexibility in reflecting differ...
متن کاملA Framework for Decentralized Wireless LAN Resource Management
The proliferation of wireless local area network (WLAN) deployments in enterprises, public areas, and homes will cause frequent geographical coverage overlap among multiple networks. A recent growing interest is the coordination among WLAN providers for efficient resource management over a large coverage area. While radio resource management for a single WLAN has been studied extensively, littl...
متن کاملDistributed Resource Allocation in 5G Cellular Networks
The fifth generation (5G) cellular networks are expected to provide wide variety of high rate (i.e., 300 Mbps and 60 Mbps in downlink and uplink, respectively, in 95 percent of locations and time [1]) multimedia services. The 5G communication platform is seen as a global unified standard with seamless connectivity among existing standards, e.g., High Speed Packet Access (HSPA), Long Term Evolut...
