Enhancing Microscope Biological Images with DIP Techniques
نویسندگان
چکیده
This work reports and illustrates the application of enhancement techniques to images of nervous system from a confocal microscope. These images are processed to enhance regions of interest, e.g. nucleus and nervous terminations. Hidden information due to non-ideal acquisition must be exposed after processing, and errors such as non-uniform brightness, noise and artifacts must be eliminated.

Passive and Active Probe Arrays for Dip-Pen Nanolithography
The development of passive and active atomic force microscope (AFM) probe arrays is reported in this paper. The devices are specifically designed to work with Dip-Pen Nanolithography and are fabricated using MEMS micromachining techniques. These devices can generate sub-100nm patterns in a high speed, parallel, and controllable fashion.
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Enhancement of Confocal Scanning Laser Fluorescence Microscope Images for Vascular Reconstruction
This paper presents a fast method for enhancing the images of the vascular network of zebrafish embryo from Confocal Scanning Laser Microscope (CSLM) stained with fluorescent probe. Specifically, we split the 3D enhancement process into two separate stages and adopt different methods respectively to deconvolve the lateral and optical directions in the observed images. The resulting algorithm in...

متن کاملThe controlled evolution of a polymer single crystal.
We present a method for controlling the initiation and kinetics of polymer crystal growth using dip-pen nanolithography and an atomic force microscope tip coated with poly-dl-lysine hydrobromide. Triangular prisms of the polymer epitaxially grow on freshly cleaved mica substrates, and their in-plane and out-of-plane growth rates can be controlled by raster scanning the coated tip across the sub...
متن کاملA Novel Method of Coating Orthodontic Archwires with Nanoparticles
BACKGROUND The major hazard to the orthodontic tooth movement is the friction developing at the bracket wire interface. In the past, there have been various attempts to reduce this friction. We believe that coating the commercially available orthodontic wires with nanoparticles can result in a successful reduction of this friction. The objective of this study is to develop a novel method of coa...
