Circadian Biology: Environmental Regulation of a Multi-Oscillator Network
نویسندگان
چکیده
How does the Drosophila circadian control network respond to seasonal environmental changes? Genetic manipulations that target a small subset of clock neurons reveal that they integrate seasonal cues of light and temperature to modulate the daily distribution of rest and activity.

Hybrid Control to Approach Chaos Synchronization of Uncertain DUFFING Oscillator Systems with External Disturbance
This paper proposes a hybrid control scheme for the synchronization of two chaotic Duffing oscillator system, subject to uncertainties and external disturbances. The novelty of this scheme is that the Linear Quadratic Regulation (LQR) control, Sliding Mode (SM) control and Gaussian Radial basis Function Neural Network (GRBFNN) control are combined to chaos synchronization with respect to extern...
متن کاملRecent advances in computational modeling as a conduit to understand the plant circadian clock
The circadian clock is necessary for plants to anticipate environmental changes. This leads to a coordination of plant development and growth and thus to increased fitness. Many clock components were identified by genetic and biochemical approaches, and studies on these components revealed a core oscillator with multiple feedback loops. A suite of computation analyses is uncovering the outputs ...
متن کاملCircadian clock signaling in Arabidopsis thaliana: from gene expression to physiology and development.
The daily rotation of the earth on its axis leads to predictable periodic fluctuations of environmental conditions. Accordingly, most organisms have evolved an internal timing mechanism, the circadian clock, which is able to recognize these 24-hour rhythmic oscillations. In plants, the temporal synchronization of physiology with the environment is essential for successful plant growth and devel...
متن کاملArabidopsis thaliana Circadian Clock Is Regulated by the Small GTPase LIP1
BACKGROUND At the core of the eukaryotic circadian network, clock genes/proteins form multiple transcriptional/translational negative-feedback loops and generate a basic approximately 24 hr oscillation, which provides daily regulation for a wide range of processes. This temporal organization enhances the fitness of the organism only if it corresponds to the natural day/night cycles. Light is th...
متن کاملCircadian Rhythms in Cyanobacteria.
Life on earth is subject to daily and predictable fluctuations in light intensity, temperature, and humidity created by rotation of the earth. Circadian rhythms, generated by a circadian clock, control temporal programs of cellular physiology to facilitate adaptation to daily environmental changes. Circadian rhythms are nearly ubiquitous and are found in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic organism...
