The Design Theory Nexus 1 2

چکیده
14 15 Managers frequently face ill-structured or “wicked” prob16 lems. Such problems are characterized by a large degree of 17 uncertainty with respect to how the problem should be 18 approached and how to establish and evaluate the set of 19 alternative solutions. A design theory nexus is a set of 20 constructs and methods that enable the construction of models 21 that connect numerous design theories with alternative solu22 tions. It thereby offers a unique problem-solving approach 23 that is particularly useful for addressing ill-structured or 24 wicked problems. For each alternative solution in a design 25 theory nexus one or more unique criteria are established to 26 formulate a specific design theory. We develop a general 27 method for constructing a design theory nexus and illustrate 28 its utility using two field studies. One develops and applies 29 an organizational change nexus. The other develops and 30 applies a user involvement nexus. Each is a specific instan31 tiation of the general design theory nexus constructs. Using 32 Veda Storey was the accepting senior editor for this paper. 33 these illustrations, we provide examples of how to evaluate such instantiations. We then discuss our findings as well as the validity of our approach. We conclude that the design theory nexus provides a viable conceptualization that enables the construction of effective problem-solving artifacts.

The Nexus among Resource Based Theory, Marketing Strategy, and Firm Performance: An Integrated Framework
The purpose of this article is to present the link among resource based theory, marketing strategy, and firms’ performance in order to propose integrative framework showing how the three constructs are linked. It is organized based on a review of academic literature on resource based theory and marketing strategy chronicled in major marketing journals up to December 2015. Besides, the paper ref...
متن کامل1 Nexus : a Neural Simulator for Integrating Top - down and Bottom - up Modeling
We have developed the NEXUS simulation environment as a tool for modeling largescale neural systems. The software is written in C and runs under UNIX. A unique aspect of NEXUS is that it is particularly suited for simulating hybrid neural models (i.e. systems integrating di erent modeling paradigms and/or architectures.) NEXUS is designed for large-scale simulations, and to facilitate model dev...

Over the past 50 years, while the development of intermediate texture of Tehran has focused on spatial dimension and physical structure, neglecting the user experience and social dimensions has become a design challenge. This paper has focused on Social interaction in public space neighborhood via integration of social and spatial dimensions which is essential more than ever. In this paper, a r...
متن کاملMathematical Modelling of Second and Third Generations of Biomass Networks Considering Water-Energy Nexus
Nowadays required energy mostly comes from fossil fuels but the limitation of fossil resources and their environmental effects have encouraged communities to seek alternative renewable energy sources. Meanwhile enery forom biomass (bioenergy) has particular importance due to wide range of resources and other advantages. In this research, a multi-objective model is proposed to design a bioenergy...
متن کاملCorporate governance for knowledge production: theoretical foundations and practical implications
Agency Theory as the dominant view of Corporate Governance disregards that the key task of firm governance is to generate, accumulate, transfer, and protect firm specific knowledge. Three different foundations to the theory of the firm which underpin different concepts of corporate governance are discussed: The traditional view of the firm as a nexus of contracts, the view of the firm as a nexu...
