Application of Renormalization to Potential Scattering

چکیده
A recently proposed renormalization scheme can be used to deal with nonrelativistic potential scattering exhibiting ultraviolet divergence in momentum space. A numerical application of this scheme is made in the case of potential scattering with r divergence for small r, common in molecular and nuclear physics, by the use of cut-offs in momentum and configuration spaces. The cut-off is finally removed in terms of a physical observable and model-independent result is obtained at low energies. The expected variation of the off-shell behavior of the t matrix arising from the renormalization scheme is also discussed. A numerical renormalization group approach for calculating the spectrum of a vibronic system occurring in molecules or impurities in insulators
Theoretically, in order to describe the behavior of a spectrum, a mathematical model whichcould predict the spectrum characteristics is needed. Since in this study a Two-state system has beenused like models which was introduced previously past and could couple with the environment, theformer ideas have been extended in this study. we use the second quantized version for writing thisHamiltonian...
متن کاملTime-Dependent Real-Space Renormalization Group Method
In this paper, using the tight-binding model, we extend the real-space renormalization group method to time-dependent Hamiltonians. We drive the time-dependent recursion relations for the renormalized tight-binding Hamiltonian by decimating selective sites of lattice iteratively. The formalism is then used for the calculation of the local density of electronic states for a one dimensional quant...
متن کاملScattering on fractal measures
Abstract. We study the one-dimensional potential-scattering problem when the potential is a Radon measure with compact support. We show that the usual reflection and transmission amplitude r(p) and t (p) of an incoming wave eipx are well defined. We also show that the scattering problem on fractal potentials can be obtained as a limit case of scattering on smooth potentials. We then explain how...
متن کاملInverse scattering problem for the Impulsive Schrodinger equation with a polynomial spectral dependence in the potential
In the present work, under some di¤erentiability conditions on the potential functions , we rst reduce the inverse scattering problem (ISP) for the polynomial pencil of the Scroedinger equation to the corresponding ISP for the generalized matrix Scrödinger equation . Then ISP will be solved in analogy of the Marchenko method. We aim to establish an e¤ective algorithm for uniquely reconstructin...
متن کاملApplication of small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) for differentiation between normal and cancerous breast tissues
ABSTRACT Background: Coherent scattering leads to diffraction effects and especially constructive interferences. Theseinterferences carry some information about the molecular structure of the tissue. As breast cancer isthe most widespread cancer in women, this project evaluated the application of small angleX-ray scattering (SAXS) for differentiation between normal and cancerous breast tissues....
