An improved blind adaptive MMSE receiver for fast fading DS-CDMA channels

چکیده
Blind adaptive minimum mean-squared errors (MMSE) receivers for multiuser direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems that assume knowledge of the steering vector, i.e., the cross-correlation between the desired output and the input signal, are known for their robustness against channel fading as they do not attempt to explicitly track the channel of the user of interest. However, these receivers often have higher excess mean squared error (MSE) and hence poorer performance than training-sequence based adaptive MMSE receivers. In this paper, an improved correlation matrix estimation scheme for blind adaptive MMSE receivers is provided. The new scheme takes advantage of the fact that the desired linear receiver can be expressed as a function of the interference correlation matrix only, rather than the total data correlation matrix. A theoretical analysis is performed for the at fading case which predicts that the new estimation scheme will result in signiicant performance improvement. Blind adaptive MMSE receivers with the new estimation scheme appear to achieve performance comparable to the training-sequence based adaptive MMSE receivers. Detailed computer simulations for the fast multipath fading environment verify that the proposed scheme yields strong performance gains over previous methods.

A Blind Array Receiver for Multicarrier DS-CDMA in Fading Channels
A modified MMSE receiver for multicarrier DS-CDMA operating in fading, multipath radio channels is presented. This structure is computationally efficient when the channel is rapidly time-varying. Subspace concepts are applied in a proposed blind implementation and simulations show that the new receiver can produce enhanced performance.

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

In this paper, we propose a robust adaptive minimum mean square error (MMSE) Rake receiver for asynchronous DS-CDMA systems. The receiver uses the modified MMSE criterion that incorporates the differential detection and the amplitude compensation for interference cancellation in a time-varying multipath fading channel. We investigate that the proposed Rake receiver can achieve the higher output...

In this paper, we propose smart step closed-loop power control (SSPC) algorithm and base station assignment based on minimizing the transmitter power (BSAMTP) technique in a direct sequence-code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) receiver in the presence of frequency-selective Rayleigh fading. This receiver consists of three stages. In the first stage, with conjugate gradient (CG) adaptive ...

| Linear minimum mean squared error (LMMSE) criterion can be used to obtain near-far resistant single-user receivers in direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) systems. A mod-iied version of the receiver, called LMMSE-RAKE receiver , has previously shown promising performance in frequency-selective fading channels. In this paper, both the convergence and BER performance of an ad...
