چکیده

The power spectrum of quantum dot (QD) fluorescence exhibits β f 1 noise, related to the intermittency of these nanosystems. As in other systems exhibiting f 1 noise, this power spectrum is not integrable at low frequencies, which appears to imply infinite total power. We report measurements of individual QDs that address this long-standing paradox. We find that the level of β f 1 noise decays with the observation time. The change of the spectrum with time places a bound on the total power. These observations are in stark contrast with most measurements of noise in macroscopic systems which do not exhibit any evidence for non-stationarity. We show that the traditional description of the power spectrum with a single exponent β is incomplete and three additional critical exponents characterize the dependence on experimental time. High order perturbation study of the frustrated quantum Ising chain

In this paper, using high order perturbative series expansion method, the critical exponents of the order parameter and susceptibility in transition from ferromagnetic to disordered phases for 1D quantum Ising model in transverse field, with ferromagnetic nearest neighbor and anti-ferromagnetic next to nearest neighbor interactions, are calculated. It is found that for small value of the frustr...

A Simple Image Analysis Method for Determination of Glucose by using Glucose Oxidase CdTe/TGA Quantum Dots

Glucose, as the major energy source in cellular metabolism, plays an important role in the natural growth of cells. Herein, a simple, rapid and low-cost method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and CdTe/thioglycolic acid (TGA) quantum dots (QDs) on a thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate has been described. The detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzym...

Signatures of critical full counting statistics in a quantum-dot chain

We consider current shot noise and the full counting statistics in a chain of quantum dots which exhibits a continuous nonequilibrium phase transition as a function of the tunnel couplings of the chain with the electrodes. Using a combination of analytical and numerical methods, we establish that the full counting statistics is conventional away from the phase transition, but becomes, in a well...

Non-Enzymatic Glucose Sensing Using Carbon Quantum Dots Decorated with Copper Oxide Nanoparticles

Perturbations in glucose homeostasis is critical for human health, as hyperglycemia (defining diabetes) leads to premature death caused by macrovascular and microvascular complications. However, the simple and accurate detection of glucose in the blood at low cost remains a challenging task, although it is of great importance for the diagnosis and therapy of diabetic patients. In this work, car...
