چکیده

The ability to obtain the accurate three-dimensional position information in the presence of limited sensor resolution is a crucial task in computer vision and other triangulation systems. Sensors for computer processing applications produce sampled quantized data, whose spatial resolution is determined by limits in device technology and bandwidth. In computer vision and photogrammetry, normally stereo camera setups as shown in Figure 1 are used for obtaining 3-D data. In a stereo camera system the two viewing cameras are separated by a distance b along same base line, which is normally taken along the positive x axis. With such a stereo-camera system, two images namely, left image and right image are obtained of any 3-D point. The three-dimensional coordinates of each image point is found by computing the disparities between the corresponding left and right image points. This results in a scanty distribution of reconstructed 3-D points. Designing of any stereo-system is dependent on various parameters like focal lengths of the viewing cameras, the distance of separation between the two viewing cameras, distance of the cameras from the viewing point and interval of image sampling. The relationship

An efficient Stereo matching method to reduce disparity quantization error

Efficiently utilizing the stereo Images to generate a desirable semi dense disparity map is a challenging problem. Disparity image is a projected geometric space contains more primitive information directly computed from stereo Images. Stereo matching is considered as difficult in image processing due to complexity and structure ambiguity. In this Paper, we propose a novel efficient disparity i...

Localization error analysis for stereo X-ray image guidance with probability method.

The mean value and standard deviation of localization error for the stereo imaging systems are derived based on probability theory. Compared with the maximum error analysis method used in our previous study, the new approach yields more informative and precise results as the guidance for X-ray imaging system design and protocol optimization. The prototype for our current study is a CCD based mo...

New Pseudo-CT Generation Approach from Magnetic Resonance Imaging using a Local Texture Descriptor

Background: One of the challenges of PET/MRI combined systems is to derive an attenuation map to correct the PET image. For that, the pseudo-CT image could be used to correct the attenuation. Until now, most existing scientific researches construct this pseudo-CT image using the registration techniques. However, these techniques suffer from the local minima of the non-rigid deformation energy f...

An empirical study on the effects of spatial discretization error in a stereo vision system

considered the case in which the images are in the same imaging plane and the optical axes of the two images are parallel. The triangulation error is inversely proportional to the product of baseline x focal length. At a given focal length, a wider baseline reduces triangulation error but increases both geometric and photometric distortions in images which in turn makes matching of these images...
