چکیده

Grid computing is concerned with the sharing and coordinated use of diverse resources in distributed "virtual organizations.” The dynamic and multi-institutional nature of these environments introduces challenging security issues that demand new technical approaches. In particular, one must deal with diverse local mechanisms, support dynamic creation of services, and enable dynamic creation of trust domains. We describe how these issues are addressed in two generations of the Globus Toolkit®. First, we review the Globus Toolkit version 2 (GT2) approach; then, we describe new approaches developed to support the Globus Toolkit version 3 (GT3) implementation of the Open Grid Services Architecture, an initiative that is recasting Grid concepts within a serviceoriented framework based on Web services. GT3’s security implementation uses Web services security mechanisms for credential exchange and other purposes, and introduces a tight leastprivilege model that avoids the need for any privileged network service.

Survey of Security in Grid Services

This article provides a survey of Security in Grid Services coming from a study of many papers most of which were done by the Grid Forum OGSA-SEC (Open Grid Service Architecture Security) working group, GSI (Grid Security Infrastructure) working group, and Globus Alliance team and other people who contributed to Grid. It describes the best practice in terms of Grid Security Challenges, Grid Sec...

MyGridFTP: A Zero-Deployment GridFTP Client Using the .NET Framework

Large-scale scientific and engineering applications are increasingly being hosted as Grid services using Globus middleware complying to the Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA) framework. In order for users to fully embrace Grid applications, seamless access to Grid services is required. In working towards this aim we present the design and implementation of Grid clients that utilise the lang...

Information Grid Toolkit: Infrastructure of Shanghai Information Grid

A fundamental problem that confronts Shanghai Information Grid is to adopt a good Grid toolkit, since the “de facto” standard Globus Toolkit does not support Information Grid well enough. We have developed an OGSAcompatible Grid Middleware, Shanghai Information Grid Toolkit (IGT), which is optimized for Information Grid. Some important new features are provided in IGT: a small and fast core sup...

An Integrated XML Security Mechanism for Mobile Grid Application

Mobile Grid, or Wireless Grid Services refers to value-added Grid Service by processing in Mobile environment. Besides Mobile Internet the traditional Internet computing is experiencing a conceptual shift from ClientServer model to Grid and Peer-to-Peer computing models. As these trends, Mobile Internet and the Grid, are likely to find each other the resource constraints that Wireless devices p...

Web Services Security and Load Balancing in Grid Environment

Web services security has some crucial problems to be solved in building Grid applications. In particular the current implementations of message-level Web services security are very slow and therefore extremely vulnerable to even the simplest types of Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. The more advanced is the security mechanisms, the worse the performance and scalability of the whole system. On ...
