چکیده

A method for the determination of the copper content of biological materials by flame spectrophotometry is described. The effects of interference by ions such as sodium and phosphate were eliminated by isolating copper as the dithizonate in CCl(4). Results obtained for the urinary excretion of copper by a patient with Wilson's disease before and after treatment with penicillamine are reported.

Sepration and determination trace amount of cadmium ions in real and water samples by cloud point extraction - flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry after preconcentration with non-ionic surfactant Triton-X114

2-(3- indolyl) – 4,5 di phynyl imidazole.(IDPI) was used as a complexing agent in cloud point extraction for the first time and applied for selective pre-concentration of trace amounts of cadmium. The method is based on the extraction of cadmium at pH= 7.0 by using non-ionic surfactant Triton-X114 and 2-(3- indolyl) – 4,5 di phynyl imidazole. (IDPI) as a chelating agent. The adopted concentrati...

Determination of Trace Copper(II) in Food Samples by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry after Cloud Point Extraction

A new method for the determination of trace copper(II) in food samples by Cloud Point Extraction(CPE) combined with Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry(FAAS) is presented and evaluated. The method is based on the fact that hydrophobic complex of copper(II) with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC) was formed at pH 6.0 and subsequently the hydrophobic complex was extracted into surfactant-r...

Field sample preconcentration of copper in sea water using chelating minicolumns subsequently incorporated on a flow-injection-flame atomic absorption spectrometry system.

A field flow preconcentration system for copper determination in seawater is described. Seawater samples are collected and preconcentrated in situ by passing them using a peristaltic pump through a minicolumn packed with Amberlite XAD-4 impregnated with the complexing agent 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol. Thus, copper is preconcentrated without the interference of the saline matrix. Once in the la...

Ion Pair Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction for the Determination of Trace Amounts of Copper(II) in Soil, Multivitamin Tablet, Tea and Water Samples Using Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

Ion pair dispersive liquid- liquid microextraction (IP-DLLME) method combined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry was proposed for the determination of trace amounts of copper(II). By using pyrocatechol violet as chelating agent and cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide as an ion pairing agent, the trace amount of copper(II) was extracted in chloroform. The factors influencing the formation cop...

Cloud Point Extraction of Trace Amounts of Copper and Its Determination by Flow Injection Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

A simple and convenient method based on cloud point extraction was proposed for the determination of copper. The extraction was carried out in the presence of 2-[(2-mercaptophenylimino)methyl]phenol (MPMP) as the chelating ligand and octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol (Triton X-114) as the non-ionic surfactant. After phase separation, the surfactant rich phase containing the complex was diluted with...
