Kinetic Studies on Immune Hemolysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
A quantitative method for the study of the kinetics of immune hemolysis is described. In the presence of excess C' and limited amounts of antibody the kinetics of hemolysis resemble those of enzymatic processes. Assays of hemolytic antibody should therefore be based on velocity measurements rather than end point titrations.

Objective(s): Polymeric nanofiber has a huge potential for a various biomedical applications such as wound healing and orthopedic implant. Since most of the future applications of therapeutic nanofiber are interacting with human blood components, it is important to investigate hemocompatibility. Methods: In this study, nanofibers with antibacterial properties were synthesizedby elec...
متن کاملSTUDIES ON IMMUNE CELLULAR INJURY II. FUNCTIONAL ROLE OF Ctl ESTERASE IN IMMUNE CYTOTOXICITY* BY IRWIN
I t was demonstrated in the preceding paper (1) that incubation of primary isolates of normal human amnion cells with specific rabbit antibody and normal human serum resulted in immune cellular injury as measured by two independent criteria of cytotoxicity. I t was further shown that the factors in normal human serum which were required in addition to specific antibody for production of cytotox...
متن کاملInterference with Immune Hemolysis by Glycoprotein Antigens*, by E. R. Arquilla,
Hemagglutination and hemolytic titrations of antisera using red cells to which antigens have been conjugated with bis(diazo)benzidine have been used as a measure of antibody activities (1--4) in this laboratory. Hemagglutination and immune hemolysis fitrations have comparable sensitivities. Immune hemolysis, however, can be modified to give a high degree of precision (5). Both methods have been...
متن کاملImmune-mediated Hemolytic Anemia: Review and Update on Splenectomy as Adjunctive Therapy
Introduction: Immune mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA) is one of the most common immune mediated conditions in dogs treated in both the primary care and referral settings. Despite decades of knowledge and research on IMHA, it remains to be a frustrating and very deadly disease with reported mortality rates range from 22-70%. Although the highest mortality rates were seen in the earlier studies, ...
متن کاملIsozymes of human phosphofructokinase: identification and subunit structural characterization of a new system.
The existence of a five-membered isozyme system for human phosphofructokinase (PFK; ATP:D-fructose-6-phosphate 1-phosphotransferase, EC 2.7.1.11) has been demonstrated. These multimolecular forms result from the random polymerization of two distinct subunits, M (muscle type) and L (liver type), to form all possible tetrameters-i.e., M(4), M(3)L, M(2)L(2), ML(3), and L(4). Partially purified mus...
