چکیده

Many of the pressing problems facing our society such as managing the delivery of health care to aging populations or making cities resilient against natural disasters are fundamentally defined by enterprise systems. The dilemma that enterprise systems pose to systems engineers is that the behavioral and social components of the system cannot be assumed away as it is the interactions among the behavioral, social, and technological components that determine outcomes. In this paper we consider two key challenges to modeling enterprise systems: overlapping representations and adaptive behavior. While it is unlikely that these challenges can ever be “solved”, we believe that they can be addressed. To that end, we present a general methodology for modeling enterprise systems that aims to intelligently manage the difficulties imposed by the

New Realities of the Enterprise Management System Information Support: Economic and Mathematical Models and Cloud Technologies

The paper focuses on the urgency of the implementation of cloud technologies, which are a necessary condition for the development of enterprise management systems, give rise to a complex of insufficiently studied phenomena and processes and determine the need to find new tools in making and implementing reasonable management decisions. In the process of research, the sequence of construction an...

Vocabularies, ontologies, and rules for enterprise and business process modeling and management

Vocabularies, ontologies, and business rules are key components of a model-driven approach to enterprise computing in a networked economy. Enterprise vocabularies, ontologies, and business rules do not exist in isolation but serve to support business processes. While many have recognized the importance of vocabularies, ontologies, and business rules in business process modeling and management, ...

Toward Modeling Constructs for Audit Risk Assessment: Reflections on Internal Controls Modeling

Auditors face a number of challenges when performing audit risk assessment. To cope with these challenges, methods are required that purposefully reduce the complexity inherent to internal control systems and that facilitate communication about internal control matters among groups of stakeholders with differing perspectives on the subject matter. In this paper, we investigate the potentials of...

The Utility of Participative Enterprise Modeling in Information Systems: Development - Challenges and Research Issues

Research has shown that the full and positive effect of Participative Enterprise Modeling methods heavily depends on the ability of its users to deal with numerous situational factors, which characterize, influence and constrain each specific development situation where Enterprise Modeling is used. This paper argues, based on empirical research, for a shift in method development from the invent...
