Women's roles in family businesses: some empirical evidence from Italy

Purpose As women are still promoted to C-level roles at far lower rates than men, this paper examines whether there is a clear and direct relationship between women's formal the effect of socio-cultural context on their participation in strategic decisions family businesses. Design/methodology/approach This study adopts quantitative research design logistic regression analyze empirical data from randomly selected sample 800 firms Sardinia. Findings In general, results show that decision-making process not related, except specific sector (agriculture farming), local plays an unquestionable role terms replicating customs traditions workplace. Research limitations/implications Although limited by same territory, shows participate both when tasked virtue leadership playing minor way implicit power.
