Well testing of radial jet drilling wells in geothermal reservoirs

چکیده

Abstract Radial Jet Drilling (RJD) is a stimulation technique to increase well’s performance through creation of multiple laterals up 100 m long. The has been used in the petroleum industry for several years and recently also geothermal reservoirs. Interpretation well tests with may become problematic if effect not correctly modelled. In this work it investigated what impact RJD on pressure transients both single dual porosity A semi-analytic model calculation transient that accounts explicitly geometry developed validated detailed numerical simulation. results show changes lateral configuration affect significantly. particular media, ways cannot be captured by representing skin factor. Since process unsteered exact uncertain, potentially assist estimating effectiveness such as achieved reach laterals. Although was carried out context application reservoirs, presented approach can extended multi-lateral wells oil or gas

Results of Large-dlqmeter Well Drilling in Philippine Geothermal Felds

4 large hameter casing design was adopted for 34 vells drilled in the Philippines using 13-3/8” mduction casing in combination with 9-5/8’ slotted iner to improve well output and to reduce space equirement in collaring the wells. Well test results ndicate an increase in production by as much as !50% compared with wells using the usual string ambination of 9-5/8” and 7-518”. In the 600 MWe q t e...

Optimization of well placement geothermal reservoirs using artificial intelligence

This research proposes a framework for determining the optimum location of an injection well using an inference method, artificial neural networks and a search algorithm to create a search space and locate the global maxima. A complex carbonate geothermal reservoir (Kizildere Geothermal field, Turkey) production history is used to evaluate the proposed framework. Neural networks are used as a t...

Simulation of Radon Transport in Geothermal Reservoirs

The radon simulation model has been used to simulate radon concentration response during production drawdown and two flowrate transient tests in vapor-dominated systems. Comparison of model simulation with experimental data from field tests provides insight in the analysis of reservoir phenomena such as propagation of boiling fronts, and estimates of reservoir properties of porosity and permeab...

Optimization of Reinjection in Geothermal Reservoirs

Re-injection of produced geothermal water for pressure support is a common practice in geothermal field management. The location selection of the reinjection well and the rate of injection is a challenging subject for geothermal reservoir engineers. The goal of optimization for this type of problem is usually to find one or more combinations of geothermal re-injection well locations that will m...

Geothermal Reservoirs in Hydrothermal Convection Systems

T Abstract Geothermal reservoirs commonly exist in hydrothermal convection systems involving fluid circulation downward in areas of recharge and upwards in areas of discharge. Because such reservoirs are not isolated from their surroundings, the nature of thermal and hydrologic connections with the rest of the system may have significant effects on the natural state of the reservoir and on its ...
