چکیده
Abstract Microbial plant growth promoters (MPGP) are known to improve crop nutrition and root health. Here we examined the effects of individual combined inoculation chili pepper (variety Camino Real) with Rhizophagus irregularis (isolate BEG87) a commercial product Azospirillum brasilense on biocontrol against oomycete pathogen Phytophthora capsici CH11). In greenhouse pot experiment, unfertilized ten-week-old plants R. A. were confronted P. capsici, four weeks later harvested scored for disease severity. Surprisingly, both MPGP not only decreased growth, but also promoted rot caused by . This increased severity in mycorrhizal was further corroborated second experiment inert substrate mineral fertilization. conclusion, may cause suppression plants, increase capsici.

Response of Germination and Seedling Growth of Pepper cultivars to Seed Priming by Plant Growth Regulators
In order to study the germination and growth of pepper seeds, a factorial experiment based on a completely randomized design with three replications was conducted. The first factor was consisting of five cultivars of pepper (Marquiza, Cadia, California Wonder, California Wonder 310 and California Wonder 300) and the second factor was gibberellic acid with three levels (0 as control, 250 and 500...
متن کاملIdentification of 18 genes encoding necrosis-inducing proteins from the plant pathogen Phytophthora capsici (Pythiaceae: Oomycetes).
Phytophthora capsici is an aggressive plant pathogen that affects solanaceous and cucurbitaceous hosts. Necrosis-inducing Phytophthora proteins (NPPs) are a group of secreted toxins found particularly in oomycetes. Several NPPs from Phytophthora species trigger plant cell death and activate host defense gene expression. We isolated 18 P. capsici NPP genes, of which 12 were active during hypha g...
متن کاملFunctional analysis of Pcipg2 from the straminopilous plant pathogen Phytophthora capsici.
Phytophthora capsici causes serious diseases in numerous crop plants. Polygalacturonases (PGs) are cell wall-degrading enzymes that play an important role in pathogenesis in straminopilous pathogens. To understand PGs as they relate to the virulence of P. capsici, Pcipg2 was identified from a genomic library of a highly virulent P. capsici strain. Pcipg2 was strongly expressed during symptom de...
متن کاملGenetic transformation of the plant pathogens Phytophthora capsici and Phytophthora parasitica.
Phytophthora capsici and P.parasitica were transformed to hygromycin B resistance using plasmids pCM54 and pHL1, which contain the bacterial hygromycin B phosphotransferase gene (hph) fused to promoter elements of the Ustilago maydis heat shock hsp70 gene. Enzymes Driselase and Novozyme 234 were used to generate protoplasts which were then transformed following exposure to plasmid DNA and polye...
متن کاملPlant-mediated gene silencing restricts growth of the potato late blight pathogen Phytophthora infestans
Phytophthora infestans is an oomycete that causes severe damage to potato, and is well known for its ability to evolve rapidly in order to overcome resistant potato varieties. An RNA silencing strategy was evaluated here to clarify if small interfering RNA homologous to selected genes in P. infestans could be targeted from the plant host to reduce the magnitude of the infection. As a proof-of-c...
