Validation of Sea Surface Temperature from GCOM-C Satellite Using iQuam Datasets and MUR-SST in Indonesian Waters

نویسندگان

چکیده

Sea surface temperature (SST) is an important variable in oceanography. One of the SST data can be obtained from Global Observation Mission-Climate (GCOM-C) satellite. Therefore, this needs to validated before being applied various fields. This study aimed validate GCOM-C satellite Indonesian Seas. Validation was performed using Multi-sensor Ultra-high Resolution sea (MUR-SST) and situ Quality Monitor (iQuam). The used are daily dataset January December 2018, as well MUR-SST iQuam same period. validation process carried out three-way error analysis method. results showed that accuracy 0.37oC.

On the Validation of Satellite-Derived Sea Ice Surface Temperature

The surface temperature of sea ice controls the rate of ice growth and heat exchange between the ocean and the atmosphere. An algorithm for the satellite retrieval of ice surface temperature has recently been published, but due to the lack of validation data has not been extensively tested. In this paper, data from a recent Arctic field experiment is used in an attempt to validate that algorith...

Effect of sea surface temperature (SST) changes on coral ecosystems in Kish Island

Background and Theoretical Foundations: Coral reefs are one of the world's most attractive ecosystems. They have been covering large parts of the world in the tropic areas. Coral reefs in the Iranian waters of the Persian Gulf are largely limited to the Islands. Many factors, including natural and anthropogenic activities cause stress to the reef communities affecting reef development. Coral bl...

Investigation of Geostrophic and Ekman Surface Current Using Satellite Altimetry Observations and Surface Wind in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea

The rise of satellite altimetry is a revolution in the ocean sciences. Due to its global coverage and its high resolution, altimetry classically outperforms in situ water level measurement. Ekman and geostrophic currents are large parts of the ocean’s current, playing a vital role in global climate variations. According to the classic oceanography, Ekman and geostrophic currents can be calculat...

Using sea surface temperature measurements from microwave and infrared satellite measurements

The Tropical Rainfall Mapping Mission Microwave Imager (TMI) instrument Sea Surface Temperature (SST) product (v1.0) is compared with in situ observations obtained in the Atlantic Ocean. The TMI SST has a mean warm bias of 0.25K¡0.7K when compared to in situ SST at a depth of 7m. When TMI SST are compared to in situ skin SST measurements, the bias is 0.6K¡0.5K. A limited global comparison betwe...
