چکیده
ABSTRACT Diets with high energy density and additives that enhance use are necessary for finishing feedlot cattle. The objective of the present study was to evaluate performance, ingestive behavior, apparent digestibility diet carcass traits steers fed concentrates from different sources, one derived starchy sources other, lipid combined or not whole soy lecithin, at a dose 40 g animal day-1. experimental design completely randomized blocks, in 2 x factorial arrangement. combination lecithin source concentrate increased dry matter yield animals (76.03% 57.20%, respectively). showed higher ether extract on it had (84.18% 56.85%, Whole promoted reduction fecal pH due greater fermentation carbohydrates fatty acids intestinal lumen. Using is recommended its improvements yield.

Energy efficiency of growing ram lambs fed concentrate-based diets with different roughage sources.
Poor-quality roughages are widely used as fiber sources in concentrate-based diets for ruminants. Because roughage quality is associated with the efficiency of energy use in forage-based diets, the objective of this study was to determine whether differing the roughage source in concentrate-based diets could change the energy requirements of growing lambs. Eighty-four 1/2 Dorper × 1/2 Santa Inê...
متن کاملLipogenesis and adipose tissue cellularity in steers switched from alfalfa hay to high concentrate diets.
An experiment was conducted to 1) evaluate the effects of diet (alfalfa hay vs high concentrate) on adipose tissue cellularity and rates of in vitro lipogenesis and 2) determine if there was a relationship between in vitro lipogenic rates from acetate and lactate and rates of L- or D-lactate disappearance from plasma. Number of adipose cells/g of tissue decreased with time on experiment; howeve...

In this paper, weight, carcass dressing, weights of the primary cuts, weights of the physical components of the primary cuts, and weights of the main commercial cuts of 66 Purunã animals, of which 33 were bulls and 33 were steers were evaluated. These animals, with an average age of 19 months at the beginning of the experiment, were finished in a feedlot system during 116 days, and were fed wit...
