Use of Real Coded Genetic Algorithm as a Pre-Dimensioning Tool for Prestressed Concrete Beams

In project practice, the search for optimal solutions is based on traditional process of trial and error, which consumes much time does not guarantee that found are problem. Many studies have been developed in recent years with aim solving problems various fields structural engineering aid intelligent algorithms; however, when it comes to optimization designs, approaches considered by authors involve a large number variables constraints, making implementation techniques difficult consuming significant processing time. This research aims evaluate efficiency algorithms associated simpler implement. Therefore, Genetic Algorithm Real Coding was built serve as an auxiliary tool pre-dimensioning prestressed concrete beams. With this, problem becomes implement, depends smaller variables, leading less consumption. Simulations were performed calibrate find solution later. The algorithm compared real had already gone through process. Even these circumstances, proposed able find, 210 s, more economical solution.
