Two-site anyonic Josephson junction

چکیده
Anyons are particles with intermediate quantum statistics whose wavefunction acquires a phase $e^{i\theta}$ by particle exchange. Inspired proposals of simulating anyons using ultracold atoms trapped in optical lattices, we study two-site anyonic Josephson junction, i.e. confined one-dimensional double-well potential. We show, analytically and numerically, that many properties junctions, such as frequency, imbalanced solutions, macroscopic self-trapping, coherence visibility, condensate fraction, crucially depend on the angle $\theta$. Our theoretical predictions solid benchmark for near future experimental simulations matter potentials.

An Extraordinary Josephson Junction
The combination of symmetry breaking effects, such as those occurring in magnets and superconductors, with topological order may result in remarkable new physics. Recent theoretical studies suggest that, in certain superconductors, exotic quasiparticle excitations can emerge that behave like Majorana fermions, chargeneutral quasiparticles that are their own antiparticles. In Physical Review Let...
متن کاملParamagnetic and diamagnetic States in two-dimensional josephson-junction arrays.
Many experiments on high-temperature superconductors have shown paramagnetic behavior when the sample is field cooled. The paramagnetism was attributed to a d-wave order parameter creating pi-junctions in the samples. However, the same effect was later discovered in traditional low-temperature superconductors and conventional Josephson-junction arrays which are s wave. By simulating both conven...
متن کاملVortex dynamics in dilute two dimensional Josephson junction arrays
We have investigated the dynamics of vortices in a dilute two dimensional Josephson junction array where a fraction of the superconducting islands is missing. We have used the multiple trapping model to calculate the mobility of vortices and the frequency dependence of the resistance and inductance of the array.
متن کاملVoltage rectification in two dimensional Josephson junction arrays
We study numerically the directed motion of vortices (antivortices) under an applied ac bias in two-dimensional Josephson junction arrays (JJA) with an asymmetrically modulated periodic vortex pinning potential. We find that the ratchet effect in large 2D JJA can be obtained using the RSJ model for the overdamped vortex dynamics. The rectification effect shows a strong dependence on vortex dens...
متن کاملAnti-phase locking in a two-dimensional Josephson junction array
We consider theoretically phase locking in a simple two-dimensional Josephson junction array consisting of two loops coupled via a joint line transverse to the bias current. Ring inductances are supposed to be small, and special emphasis is taken on the influence of external flux. Is is shown, that in the stable oscillation regime both cells oscillate with a phase shift equal to π (i.e. anti-ph...
