Transitions of Wear Characteristics for Rubber/Steel Seal Pairs During the Abrasive Wear Process

چکیده
Abrasive wear resulting from the microclastic rock is a common failure phenomenon in drilling environment that often limits sealing ability and service life of seals. In this study, friction process fluoro rubber (FKM) seals against 304 stainless steel (SS304) after one single entry SiO2 abrasives were investigated. The influence changes particle state on coefficient evolution, loss morphologies, mechanisms discussed detail. results indicate presence abrasive particles dispersed between interfaces clearly improves performance seal pairs deteriorates metal counterpart. movement breakage entering into interface obtained. And basis, stable can be divided three stages. addition, main causes contributed to change are random continuous breakdown particles. Furthermore, transition mechanism describes wearing behavior under these conditions was identified. study enhanced our understanding degradation practical applications.

Modelling Friction and Abrasive Wear of Elastomers
In order to properly model the friction and wear of elastomer materials, it is essential to understand some specific mechanical and tribological features. Mechanical characteristics of elastomer materials are different from those of metals and other relatively hard materials. Elastomers can bear large deformations, the stress-strain curves are non-linear, time and temperature dependent. When th...
متن کاملWear of denture teeth by use of metal plates. Part 2: Abrasive wear of posterior teeth.
An in vitro study was conducted to evaluate the abrasive wear resistance of high-strength denture teeth (HS teeth). Eight types of specimen were used in the experiments; 3 types of HS teeth, 3 types of conventional plastic denture teeth (PL teeth), porcelain teeth and metal teeth. Sliding-induced wear tests were conducted by sliding the samples on a metal plate. The abrasive wear resistance of ...
متن کاملA physically-based abrasive wear model for composite materials
A simple physically-based model for the abrasive wear of composite materials is presented based on the mechanics and mechanisms associated with sliding wear in soft (ductile)matrix composites containing hard (brittle) reinforcement particles. The model is based on the assumption that any portion of the reinforcement that is removed as wear debris cannot contribute to the wear resistance of the ...
متن کاملTHE EFFECT OF HEAT TREATMENT ON ABRASIVE WEAR RESISTANCE OF Fe-34Cr-4.5C%WT HARDFACING ALLOY
Abstract: Hardfacing is one of the most useful and economical ways to increase the service life of components subjected to abrasive wear. Iron based hardfacing alloys have long been considered as candidate coatings for wear-resistant applications in industry. In the present work two layer of Fe-34Cr-4.5C%wt hardfacing alloy was deposited on ASTM A36 carbon steel plates by SMAW method. The m...
