چکیده

Assessing the physical condition in rehabilitation scenarios is a challenging problem, since it involves Human Activity Recognition (HAR) and kinematic analysis methods. In addition, difficulties increase unconstrained scenarios, which are much closer to real use cases. particular, our aim design an upper-limb assessment pipeline for stroke patients using smartwatches. We focus on HAR task, as first part of assessing pipeline. Our main target automatically detect recognize four key movements inspired by Fugl-Meyer scale, performed both constrained scenarios. addition application protocol dataset, we propose two detection classification baseline believe that proposed framework, dataset results will serve foster this research field.

Upper Limb Motor Impairment After Stroke.

Understanding poststroke upper limb impairment is essential to planning therapeutic efforts to restore function. However, determining which upper limb impairment to treat and how is complex because the impairments are not static and multiple impairments may be present simultaneously. How impairments contribute to upper limb dysfunction may be understood by examining them from the perspective of...

Predictive Value of Somatosensation for Manual Dexterity and Upper Limb Motor Function in Stroke Survivors

Objectives: One of the most disabling impairments following stroke is upper limb impairment. Despite the important role of somatosensory function in motor control and high prevalence of somatosensory deficits in stroke survivors, little attention has been paid to its effect on UE motor function in chronic stroke survivors. Thus, the aim of this study is to explore the correlation between differ...

Assessment of upper-limb sensorimotor function of subacute stroke patients using visually guided reaching.

OBJECTIVE Using robotic technology, we examined the ability of a visually guided reaching task to assess the sensorimotor function of patients with stroke. METHODS Ninety-one healthy participants and 52 with subacute stroke of mild to moderate severity (26 with left- and 26 with right-affected body sides) performed an unassisted reaching task using the KINARM robot. Each participant was asses...

Optimal Strategies of Upper Limb Motor Rehabilitation after Stroke

The purpose of this review is to provide a comprehensive approach for optimal strategies of upper limb motor rehabilitation after stroke. Stroke is a common, serious, and disabling global health-care problem. Optimal organization of rehabilitation for stroke patients has been extensively documented. However, between 30% and 66% of individuals with stroke do not obtain satisfactory motor recover...

A single task assessment system of upper-limb motor function after stroke.

BACKGROUND Nowadays, stroke is a leading cause of disability in adults. Assessment of motor performance has played an important role in rehabilitation for post stroke patients. Therefore, it is quite important to develop an automatic assessment system of motor function. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study is to assess the performance of the single task upper-limb movements quantitatively amon...
