چکیده

We propose a GPU-accelerated implementation of frequency-domain synthetic aperture focusing technique (SAFT) employing truncated regularized inverse k-space interpolation. Our achieves sub-1s reconstruction time for data sizes up to 100 M voxels, providing more than tenfold decrease in as compared CPU-based SAFT. provide an empirical model that can be used predict the execution quasi-3D any size given specifications computing system.

Toward GPU-accelerated traffic simulation and its real-time challenge

Traffic simulation is a growing domain of computational physics. Many life and industrial applications would benefit from traffic simulation to establish reliable transportation systems. A core challenge of this science research, however, is its unbounded scale of computation. This paper explores an advantage of using the graphics processing unit (GPU) for this computational challenge. We study...

GPU-accelerated Real-Time 3D Tracking for Humanoid Autonomy

We have accelerated a robust model-based 3D tracking system by programmable graphics hardware to run online at frame-rate during operation of a humanoid robot and to efficiently auto-initialize. The tracker recovers the full 6 degree-of-freedom pose of viewable objects relative to the robot. Leveraging the computational resources of the GPU for perception has enabled us to increase our tracker’...

GPU acceleration towards real-time image reconstruction in 3D tomographic diffractive microscopy

Phase microscopy techniques regained interest in allowing for the observation of unprepared specimens with excellent temporal resolution. Tomographic diffractive microscopy is an extension of holographic microscopy which permits 3D observations with a finer resolution than incoherent light microscopes. Specimens are imaged by a series of 2D holograms: their accumulation progressively fills the ...

Real-Time GPU-Based 3D Ultrasound Reconstruction and Visualization

Ultrasound scanning is frequently used in medical practice because it is a noninvasive, safe and low-cost solution (vs. CT or MR). However, conventional ultrasound probes only provide 2D scans. 3D ultrasound reconstruction builds 2D scans into 3D volumes of the patient’s internals. Since these volumes can be used for acquiring out-of-angle views, 3D rendering of the anatomy, and for image guide...

Real-Time GPU-Based Voxel Carving with Systematic Occlusion Handling

We present an approach to compute the visual hulls of multiple people in real-time in the presence of occlusions. We prove that the resulting visual hulls are correct and minimal under occlusions. Our proposed algorithm runs completely on the GPU with framerates up to 50fps for multiple people using only one computer equipped with offthe-shelf hardware. We also compare runtimes for different gr...
