Thrombotic Alterations under Perinatal Hypoxic Conditions: HIF and Other Hypoxic Markers

چکیده

Hypoxia is considered to be a stressful physiological condition, which may occur during labor and the later stages of pregnancy as result of, among other reasons, an aged placenta. Therefore, when gestation or prolonged, low oxygen supply tissues last for minutes, newborns present breathing problems require resuscitation maneuvers. As result, poor circulating cells longer periods time, leading life-threatening conditions. In contrast well-known platelet activation that occurs after reperfusion due ischemia/reperfusion episode, alterations in response reduced exposition following have been less frequently investigated. Newborns overcome temporal hypoxic conditions by changing their organ functions adaptation intracellular molecular pathways. review, we aim analyze main modifications appear at protein level hypoxia order highlight new markers linked complications arising from labor. Thus, demonstrate modifies expression activity hypoxic-response proteins (HRPs), including hypoxia-induced factor (HIF-1), endoplasmic reticulum oxidase 1 (Ero1), carbonic anhydrase (CIX). Finally, provide updates on research related regulation function HRP activation, well role HRPs Ca2+ homeostasis.

Strength training under hypoxic conditions

Recently, Kon et al. (2014) published in this journal an interesting paper entitled “Effects of systemic hypoxia on human muscular adaptations to resistance exercise training “ which determined the effect of 8 weeks of resistance training (5 sets of 10 reps at 70% of 1 RM of free weight bench-press and bilateral leg-press using a weight-stack machine) under hypoxia (HRT, 14.4% O2) or normoxia, ...

ATM activation and signaling under hypoxic conditions.

The ATM kinase has previously been shown to respond to the DNA damage induced by reoxygenation following hypoxia by initiating a Chk 2-dependent cell cycle arrest in the G(2) phase. Here we show that ATM is both phosphorylated and active during exposure to hypoxia in the absence of DNA damage, detectable by either comet assay or 53BP1 focus formation. Hypoxia-induced activation of ATM correlate...

Perinatal Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy

Perinatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is an important cause of brain injury in the newborn and can result in long-term devastating consequences. Perinatal hypoxia is a vital cause of long-term neurologic complications varying from mild behavioural deficits to severe seizure, mental retardation, and/or cerebral palsy in the newborn. In the mammalian developing brain, ongoing research i...

Overexpression of MMP-9 and HIF-1α in Breast Cancer Cells under Hypoxic Conditions

PURPOSE Hypoxia, which is a loss of oxygen in tissues, is a common condition in solid tumors due to the tumor outgrowing existing vasculature. Under hypoxic conditions, hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α rapidly accumulates and transactivates hundreds of genes, such as matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). MMPs contribute to invasion and metastasis of tumor cells by degrading the surrounding basemen...
