The Way We Teach Now: Exploring Resilience and Teacher Identity in School Teachers During COVID-19

With the sudden onset of COVID-19 pandemic, teachers across globe felt need to respond overnight unprecedented adversity. Rapid adaptation unfamiliar modes teaching was required, leading face overwhelm on two fronts–adapting a global and in absence resources infrastructure. The lack physical classroom face-to-face interaction also impacted teachers’ sense purpose identity. Shifts teacher identity affect their motivation, commitment, job satisfaction, self-image, which collectively influences resilience. By focusing impact experience, this study attempted understand resilience community while exploring social emotional factors that helped them adapt. Using Life Story Interview method, 20 school Delhi National Capital Region were asked reflect experiences during lockdown explore adapting new reality. Reflexive thematic analysis revealed adjustment change loss, disengagement, recognising small victories as themes.
