The role of carbonate factories and sea water chemistry on basin‐wide ramp to high‐relief carbonate platform evolution: Triassic, Nanpanjiang Basin, South China

چکیده
The end-Permian extinction and its aftermath altered carbonate factories globally for millions of years, but impact on platform geometries remains poorly understood. Here, the evolution in architecture composition two exceptionally exposed platforms Nanpanjiang Basin are constrained compared with geochemical proxies to evaluate controls geometries. Geochemical indicate elevated siliciclastic nutrient fluxes basal Triassic, at Induan—Olenekian boundary uppermost Olenekian. Cerium/Ce* shifts from high Ce/Ce* values a lack Ce anomaly indicating anoxia during Lower Triassic negative oxygenation latest Olenekian Anisian. Uranium Mo depletion represents widespread world's oceans Early progressive Carbonate shifted skeletal Late Permian abiotic microbial before returning systems Middle Anisian coincident declining anoxia. Margin facies oolitic grainstone development giant ooids extensive marine cements. margins, contrast, boundstone diverse component. shift ramp steep, high-relief, flat-topped profiles is decoupled compositions having occurred prior onset basin biotic stabilisation margins. A basin-wide synchronous high-relief points combination subsidence rate starvation coupled rates accumulation cement margins as primary causes margin up-building. High sea water saturation resulting sinks precipitation, promoting an expanded depth supersaturation, probably contributed that stimulated architecture.

Milankovitch climatic signals in Lower Triassic (Olenekian) peritidal carbonate successions, Nanpanjiang Basin, South China
Meter-scale peritidal carbonate strata from an isolated platform in the Nanpanjiang Basin of South China were tested for the presence of periodic or quasi-periodic climatic signals. These signals provide information on factors controlling cyclic sedimentation in the equatorial eastern Tethys during the Early Triassic greenhouse period. Parasequences are composed of shallowing-upward successions...
متن کاملFrom regional to bed-scale sedimentological heterogeneities on a Triassic - Jurassic carbonate ramp
Triassic and Jurassic carbonates across the Middle East host large amounts of hydrocarbons, but the degree of sedimentary heterogeneity across different scales in carbonates varies significantly. In this study we investigate the regional evolution of a carbonate ramp across the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic on the Musandam Peninsula (UAE and Oman) in a series of wadis, 45 km apart. Lithostrat...
متن کاملDIAGENESIS AND RESERVOIR QUALITY EVOLUTION OF SHELF-MARGIN SANDSTONES IN PEARL RIVER MOUTH BASIN, SOUTH CHINA SEA
A study of the diagenetic evolution of sandstones from Panyu low-uplift in the Pearl River Mouth Basin was carried out to unravel the controls on shelf margin sandstone reservoir quality. The reservoir rocks, Oligocene volcanic clastic sandstones of the Zhuhai Formation, have a burial depth of 2765 to 3440 m. 70 samples were studied using the granulometric analyses, X-ray diffraction (XRD) anal...
