The Double-Edged Sword: Naloxone-Induced Noncardiogenic Pulmonary Edema

چکیده
Naloxone-induced noncardiogenic pulmonary edema (NCPE) is a scarcely reported side effect that can occur after naloxone administration. We present case of 46-year-old male who presented to the emergency department for further management an opioid overdose, developed acute hypoxic respiratory failure several doses naloxone. The rapid deterioration patient’s status required increased supplemental oxygen, with plane film radiography suggesting diffuse edema. This emphasizes importance understanding significant effects lifesaving drug and implications they carry now available without prescription.

The enormous benefits of inhibition of ACE demonstrate that manipulation of the metabolism of peptide hormones is a valuable therapeutic strategy for cardiovascular disease. Recent attempts to expand these benefits have combined ACE inhibition with inhibition of other peptidases such as neutral endopeptidase (NEP) in a single molecule, a strategy known as vasopeptidase inhibition. NEP metaboliz...

Sunscreens have long being recognized as substances to provide effective protection against the detrimental effects of solar radiation. The deleterious effects of sun exposure can be either acute (e.g. sunburn and drug-induced photo toxicity) or chronic (potential long-term risks of repeated sun exposures like solar elastosis, keratoses, induction of skin cancers, and alteration of immune respo...
