Quantitation of viral antigens released into plasma and culture fluids by murine mammary tumor cells.
Radioimmunoassay capable of measuring mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) 52,000 M.W. envelope glycoprotein (gp52) and 27,000 M.W. protein (p27) have been used to quantitatively compare plasma concentrations of these viral antigens in mice bearing spontaneous mammary tumors. Although gp52 was detected in the plasma of all tumor-bearing mice tested, p27 was detected in only a portion of tumor-beari...
متن کاملRhopalurus junceus scorpion venom induces antitumor effect in vitro and in vivo against a murine mammary adenocarcinoma model
Objective(s): In Cuba the endemic scorpion species Rhopalurus junceus has been used in traditional medicine for cancer treatment and related diseases. However there is no scientific evidence about its therapeutic potential for cancer treatment. The aim of the study was to determine the antitumor effect of scorpion venom against a murine mammary adenocarcinoma F3II. <br...

Glucocorticoid-stimulated accumulation of mouse mammary tumor virus RNA: increased rate of synthesis of viral RNA.
Glucocorticoid hormones specifically increase the intracellular concentration of mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) RNA in a cultured cell line from a GR mouse mammary carcinoma (GR) and in an MMTV-infected rat hepatoma cell line (M1.19). In contrast, these steroids have no effect on the concentration of MMTV RNA in a lymphoma line, S49, from a Balb/c mouse. Using a molecular hybridization proced...
متن کاملIn vitro production of mouse mammary tumor virus in a mouse mammary tumor ascites line.
An ascites line derived from a spontaneous mouse mammary carcinoma produces, on explantation and cultivation in vitro, large amounts of oncornavirus particles. The biochemical, biophysical, and electron microscopic characteristics of the virions are described. Molecular hybridization and immunological methods identify these virions as mouse mammary tumor virus.
