Symmetry properties and widths of the filamentary structures in the Orion A giant molecular cloud

We identify 225 filaments from an H2 column density map constructed using simultaneous 12CO, 13CO and C18O (J = 1–0) observations carried out as a part of the Milky Way Imaging Scroll Painting (MWISP) project.We select 46 long with lengths above 1.2 pc to analyze filament profiles. divide selected into 397 segments calculate profiles for each segment. The symmetries are investigated. proportion intrinsically asymmetrical is 65.3%, that symmetrical ones 21.4%. typical full width at half maximum (FWHM) ∼ 0.67 Plummer-like fitting, 0.50 Gaussian respectively. median FWHMs derived second-moment method 0.44 0.46 pc, Close association exists between filamentary structures YSOs in region.
