Flexible, transparent, conducting films of randomly stacked graphene from surfactant-stabilized, oxide-free graphene dispersions.
Graphite is exfoliated in water to give dispersions of mono- and few-layer graphene stabilized by surfactant. These dispersions can be used to form thin, disordered films of randomly stacked, oxide-free, few-layer graphenes. These films are transparent with a direct current conductivity of up to 1.5 x 10(4) S m(-1). The conductivity is stable under flexing for at least 2000 cycles. The electric...

Graphene sheets offer extraordinary electronic, thermal and mechanical properties and are expected to find a variety of applications. A prerequisite for exploiting most proposed applications for graphene is the availability of processable graphene sheets in large quantities. The direct dispersion of hydrophobic graphite or graphene sheets in water without the assistance of dispersing agents has...
متن کاملStable aqueous colloidal solutions of intact surfactant-free graphene nanoribbons and related graphitic nanostructures.
Here we demonstrate a simple, nondestructive method for the preparation of stable aqueous colloidal solutions of graphene nanoribbons and carbon nanotubes. The method includes sonication of carbon nanomaterials in hypophosphorous acid, filtration accompanied by washing the solids with water and dispersion of the solids in a fresh portion of water to form colloidal solutions.
متن کاملStabilization of aqueous carbon nanotube dispersions using surfactants: insights from molecular dynamics simulations.
Techniques for separating bundles of carbon nanotubes into homogeneous dispersion are still under development, although a few methods have been successful at the laboratory scale. Understanding the effective interactions between carbon nanotubes in the presence of dispersing agents will provide the necessary information to develop better methods and also to refine the existing ones. We present ...
متن کاملAqueous Phase Removal of Fluoride as Fluorosis agent Using Montmorillonite Clay as Natural Nanoadsorbent
Natural nanomaterial; Montmorillonite Clay was collected and purified and then applied in the removal of Fluoride. The Montmorillonite Clay was grounded and 150g was weighed and refluxed in 500mL 1MHCl at 1200C for one hour thirty minutes and activated Montmorillonite Clay was obtained. Flouride was determined with the aid of SPADNS Reagent (2-parasulfophenylazo)-1,8-dihydroxy-3,6-naphthalene d...
