چکیده

Coating materials are used on surfaces such as steel and ceramic to offer protection, corrosion resistance, wear erosion a thermal barrier, or aesthetics. Although organic coating epoxy resins, silane, acrylic widely used, there restrictions drawbacks associated with their use, including the ease which cracking, hazardous harmful human health environment, peeling, deterioration occur. Organic matrices also have capacity release vapor pressure, can lead delamination of coatings. Geopolymer an environmentally friendly solution this concern encourage sustainable growth. The simplicity geopolymers be synthesized low emission greenhouse gases CO2, SO2, NOx advantages geopolymers. advent geopolymer coatings photocatalytic properties is advantageous for decomposition pollution self-cleaning properties. aim paper study optimum solid-to-liquid ratio metakaolin paste added TiO2 ZnO by adhesion strength. Through iterative mixture optimization, we investigated effects different design parameters performance metakaolin-based material. assessed material was activated alkali activator (a sodium hydroxide silicate), addition titanium dioxide zinc oxide photocatalyst substances. Varying proportions were tested optimize best mix proportion related application. Adhesion analyses evaluated after 7 days. According findings, optimal 0.6 ratios highest strength (19 MPa) that suitable enhanced geopolymer.

Effects of Nano-SiO2 on Setting Time and Compressive Strength of Alkali- activated Metakaolin-based Geopolymer

This study presents a discussion on the effects of different solid-to-liquid (S/L) ratios (0.97 to 1.19) and nanoSiO2 (NS) percentages (0% to 3%) on some properties of metakaolin (MK)-based geopolymers. The setting time and compressive strength were investigated. Mercury intrusion porosimetry, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy were used to determine the m...

Application-Oriented Chemical Optimization of a Metakaolin Based Geopolymer

In this study the development of a metakaolin based geopolymeric mortar to be used as bonding matrix for external strengthening of reinforced concrete beams is reported. Four geopolymer formulations have been obtained by varying the composition of the activating solution in terms of SiO₂/Na₂O ratio. The obtained samples have been characterized from a structural, microstructural and mechanical p...
