چکیده

Background: The aim of this study was to examine whether the thickness preoperative soft tissue affects degree movement relative hard after orthognathic surgery. Methods: This is a retrospective examination lateral cephalometric X-rays patients who underwent surgery in single medical center, during 5-year period. Demographic and operative data were collected. Soft measured X-ray, followed by superimposition postoperative (>6 months) overlapping fixed bony points. Results: In upper jaw, there decrease with an increase initial surgeries performing advancements up 5 mm (r = −0.288). mandibular advancements, clear ratio −0.418), while no correlation setback cases 0.062). same between found advancement genioplasty −0.411). Conclusion: research shows general pattern correlated its thickness.

Visualizing three-dimensional facial soft tissue changes following orthognathic surgery.

Laser scanning can be used to visualize the face in three dimensions. These scans can then be processed to enable assessment of facial changes. The aim of this single-centre, prospective, longitudinal, cohort study was to investigate whether four different visualization methods correctly represented facial changes occurring as a result of orthognathic surgery. Twenty-six consecutive orthognathi...
