چکیده

Poor crystallinity, high degree of porosity and rough surfaces are the main drawbacks solution-processed CIGS absorbers resulting in lower power conversion efficiencies when compared to vacuum-based solar cells. Therefore, promoting absorber grain growth is key further improve solution-based cell performance. The effect alkali elements such as Na generally recognised have beneficial effects not only on opto-electronic properties but also growth. In this work, thermal evaporation a thin layer NaCl prior selenisation resulted with significantly larger grains than previously seen diffusing directly from soda-lime glass substrate. non-toxic, abundant readily available compound that has been typically used an source, rather additive into precursor solution. these devices was primarily observed spectacular morphological changes leading improved carrier collection minority lifetimes, less doping. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed voids forming around large upon addition had negative inter-grain transport. Nonetheless, device performance doubled 5% 10% using doping approach; however, compromise between optimum electronic be made. This study demonstrates novel, simple effective Na-doping strategy for reveals current limitations atmospherically deposited

The Effect of Doping and the Thickness of the Layers on CIGS Solar Cell Efficiency

The main problemswith the use of fossil fuels is the restrictions on their access and the detrimental consequences of their use which causes a threat to human health and quality of life. Consequently, the use of other energy sources has become necessary. Renewable Energy as a permanent and clean energy source is an answer to this problem. One such energy source includes photovoltaic solar energ...

Solar Cells using Congruent Thermal Evaporation

Although highly valuable as an R&D tool, ALD is a rather slow and thus expensive fabrication method for growing fi lms on the order of 1 μm thick, posing a challenge to industrial scaleup. Hence, there is a need to transfer learnings from ALD to higher-throughput manufacturing techniques without compromising quality. We fi rst demonstrate the ease of phase purifi cation of commercial SnS powder...

Perovskite solar cells prepared by flash evaporation.

A simple vacuum deposition method for the preparation of high quality hybrid organic-inorganic methylammonium lead iodide perovskite thin films is reported. When sandwiched in between organic charge transporting layers, such films lead to solar cells with a power conversion efficiency of 12.2%.
