چکیده
Octacalcium phosphate (OCP) has attracted the interest of researchers looking for new biomaterials due to its excellent biocompatibility and high formability. Furthermore, it was an attraction medical combination products that ions molecule doping ability OCP, which originated distinct crystal structure. Then, as antibacterial bone substitute, Ag-substituted OCP (OCP-Ag) a candidate centerpiece. However, OCP-Ag block fabrication, drawback Ag contents blocks were significantly reduced compared powder when they fabricated in same concentration solutions. It still unclear role Na, important matter structure substitution into unit lattice. Thus, this study, we analyzed Na process during fabrication presence Both cations improved OCP’s layer structure, even though both co-exist. As solutions increased, samples decreased until threshold values achieved. According ionic species analysis, PO4 ion complexes showed no tendency toward other cation concentrations. Spectroscopic investigation substituted conjugated site P5 PO4, resulting competition same.

In Situ Atomic Force Microscopy Observation of Octacalcium Phosphate (100) Face Dissolution in Weak Acidic Solutions
Dissolution of the (100) face of octacalcium phosphate (OCP) single crystal in weak acidic solutions (pH = 6.5; 25 ̊C) was observed in situ using atomic force microscopy. Monomolecular steps (2.0 nm high) were observed; they originated from etch pits or crystal edges. Advancement of the dissolution process led to precipitation of nanoparticles as small as ~10 nm even though the solution was unde...
متن کاملAn Octacalcium Phosphate Forming Cement
The osteoconductive and possibly osteoinductive characteristics of OCP increased the interest in preparation of bone graft materials that contain OCP in its composition. Calcium phosphate cements (CPCs) were prepared using a mixture of α-tricalcium phosphate (α-TCP) and dicalcium phosphate anhydrous (DCPA), with α-TCP / DCPA molar ratio of 1/1 and distilled water or 0.5 mol / L phosphate aqueou...
متن کاملCompetition of zinc, cadmium and calcium for binding sites in sperm of trout and carp
Heavy metal pollutions of aquatic ecosystems have already raised many concerns on aquaticorganisms’health and survival especially on their sperm. The effects of a single metal on sperm may be totallydifferent from cocktail of several metals because of their interactions, so the effects of zinc, cadmium andcalcium on the trout and carp sperms and their competition have been examined by incubatio...

Biocompatible calcium phosphate ceramic grafts are able of supporting new bone formation in appropriate environment. The major limitation of these materials usage for medical implants is the absence of accessible methods for their patient-specific fabrication. 3D printing methodology is an excellent approach to overcome the limitation supporting effective and fast fabrication of individual comp...

Objective: Furcal perforation is an undesirable complication that may occur during root canal therapy and seriously compromises the prognosis of endodontic treatment. The prognosis of furcal perforation repair depends on the prevention of bacterial infection of the perforation site. Thus, use of a biocompatible material for complete sealing of the perforation site is critically important. Thi...
