چکیده
Purpose: To investigate the effect of S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM) on angiogenesis and fibrosis in heart rats with myocardial infarction (MI), to determine mechanism action. Methods: Sprague Dawley MI received SAM treatment (15 mg/kg) intraperitoneally. The cumulative survival (%) was recorded their rate survival. Hematoxylin-eosin staining, echocardiography, hemodynamics were also performed. In addition, effects vascular regeneration analyzed by determining expression endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast (bFGF) hypoxia-inducible 1-α (HIF1-α) rats. Results: 8-week group significantly lower than that sham group, while improved rats. contractile diastolic function increased ventricular pressure change. Furthermore, elevated expressions VEGF, bFGF HIF1-α rat myocardium serum. tissues SAM-treated rats, collagen I, III α-sma reduced, indicating inhibited fibrosis. promoted cardiac activating Jagged1/Notch1 signaling pathway. Conclusion: promotes pathway inhibiting myocardium. Therefore, effectively inhibits remodeling after MI, thereby improving rats’ structure function. results may provide new targets for infarction.

Xinfuli Granule improves post-myocardial infarction ventricular remodeling and myocardial fibrosis in rats by regulating TGF-β/Smads signaling pathway
BACKGROUND Recent clinical and experimental studies have confirmed the effects of Xinfuli Granule (XG), a compound Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of heart failure (HF). This study aimed to investigate the effects and the mechanisms of XG on ventricular reconstruction in rats with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). METHODS Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to left anterior d...
متن کاملPatterns of Ventricular Remodeling After Myocardial Infarction
Since the early 1980s, we have learned much about left ventricular (LV) morphologic change in patients after myocardial infarction (MI) and the relationship of such findings to subsequent clinical course (1–5). Left ventricular end-systolic and enddiastolic volumes are effective metrics for the severity of post-MI remodeling, and their changes are closely linked with clinical outcomes. Within b...
متن کامل[Left ventricular remodeling after myocardial infarction].
Left ventricular remodeling describes a number of geometric and structural changes that the left ventricle undergoes after myocardial infarction. Briefly, it comprises expansion of the infarct and dilatation of the healthy left ventricular segments. Its severity is related to the infarct size. These changes in ventricular geometry, in particular the dilatation, influence the long-term incidence...
متن کاملVentricular remodeling after acute myocardial infarction.
The term ventricular remodeling has been coined to describe the geometrical changes in size and shape of the left ventricle occurring after large myocardial infarcts. We do not exactly know what initiates this process. Slipping of myofilaments following destruction of connective tissue--probably due to metalloproteinase activation--could be the initial event. As a consequence, wall stress is in...
متن کاملLeft Ventricular Remodeling After Myocardial Infarction
Left ventricular remodeling is the process by which ventricular size, shape, and function are regulated by mechanical, neurohormonal, and genetic factors.1,2 Remodeling may be physiological and adaptive during normal growth or pathological due to myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathy, hypertension, or valvular heart disease (Figure 1). This article will review postinfarction remodeling, pathoph...
