Role of Exogenous Nitric Oxide in Protecting Plants against Abiotic Stresses

چکیده
The continuously changing environment has led to devastating effects on the normal growth and development of plants. This necessitates understanding different components that can be involved in alleviating these effects. In last two decades, nitric oxide (NO) been largely focused as a molecule whose endogenous production exogenous supply lead several molecular physiological changes plants under stressed conditions. Although its role signaling discussed, function dealing with contemporary abiotic stress conditions remains comparatively less explored. There is growing evidence NO plays critical many processes; however, there debate about exact mechanism(s) through which lessens external supply. this review, we discuss studies were observing effect stresses including heavy metal stress, element deficiency or toxicity salt drought ultraviolet radiation waterlogging chilling stress. Though positive have discussed brief sections, focus review plant grown stresses. Deciphering underlying mechanism treatment may open up new ideas suggest successful application agricultural regions reduce damaging influences

Nitric oxide signaling in plant responses to abiotic stresses.
Nitric oxide (NO) plays important roles in diverse physiological processes in plants. NO can provoke both beneficial and harmful effects, which depend on the concentration and location of NO in plant cells. This review is focused on NO synthesis and the functions of NO in plant responses to abiotic environmental stresses. Abiotic stresses mostly induce NO production in plants. NO alleviates the...
متن کاملChemical Priming of Plants Against Multiple Abiotic Stresses: Mission Possible?
Crop plants are subjected to multiple abiotic stresses during their lifespan that greatly reduce productivity and threaten global food security. Recent research suggests that plants can be primed by chemical compounds to better tolerate different abiotic stresses. Chemical priming is a promising field in plant stress physiology and crop stress management. We review here promising chemical agent...
متن کاملSignal transduction pathways under abiotic stresses in plants
All abiotic stresses reduce plant growth and yield. The products of stress-inducible genes which could be directly protecting against these stresses include the enzymes responsible for the synthesis of various osmoprotectants like late embryogenesis abundant (LEA) proteins, antifreeze proteins, chaperones and detoxification enzymes. Another group of gene products involved in gene expression and...
متن کاملRole of Nitric oxide in regulation of H2O2 mediating tolerance of plants to abiotic stress: A synergistic signalling approach
The relationship between abiotic stress, nitric oxide (NO) and Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a challenging one. It is now clear that H2O2 and NO function as signalling molecules in plants. A wide range of abiotic stresses results in H2O2 generation, from a variety of sources and it has many essential roles in plant metabolism but at the same time, accumulation related to virtually any environment...
متن کاملNitric oxide signaling in plants
Nitric oxide (NO) is now seen as a vitally important molecule in many biological systems. Once it was identified in mammalian systems in 1987 (Palmer et al., 1987) it was only a matter of time before researchers hunted for its presence in plants, with the first such reports being published in 1998 (Delledonne et al., 1998; Durner et al., 1998). Now 15 years later the interest in NO and its role...
