Review for agronomic schedule maize- based cropping systems for haricotben under planting time arrangements in Dera South Gonder Ethiopia

Field experiments were conducted at Dera District south Gonder experimental field site, Fogra National Rice Research and Training Center from June to October during the years 2020 2021 cropping seasons. The aim of study was determine optimum time intercropping haricot bean into maize based system under conservation tillage practices, experiment laid out in split-plot design, with practices a) Tied-ridge b) Zero-tillage as main plot 1) Planting simultaneously maize, 2) 15 days after planted 3) planting 30 sub-plots. Intercropping assessed on basis performance component crops indices grain yield, biomass weight, partial total LER competitive such relative crowding coefficient (K), aggressivity (A), ratio (CR) productivity index (SPI). There no interaction between any studied. Main effects had significant all considered both growing seasons, but tended be higher tied-ridge treatment vis-versa 2021seasons. results obtained showed that greatest intercrop yields when same time. In years, highest land equivalent (LERt) values done followed by indicating advantages over sole planting. Partial LERm always than LERb 2010 season 2011 season. indicate dominant crop mixture measured positive A, high Km Kb mixture. On other hand, CR suggesting more system. Moreover, data SPI indicated conclusion, exhibited an overall advantage terms LERm, LERt could therefore recommended for Central rift valley areas Ethiopia where are major crops.
