چکیده
Bronchiectasis unrelated to cystic fibrosis (non-CF bronchiectasis) has become a major respiratory disease in developing nations. The dilated mucus filled airways promote bacterial overgrowth followed by chronic infection, bronchial inflammation, lung injury and re-infection Accurate pathogen identification antimicrobial susceptibility allowing appropriate treatment, turn, may break this vicious cycle. To study the spectrum of yielded from specimens adult patients with acute exacerbation non-cystic (CF) bronchiectasis. This cross-sectional was performed at pulmonology clinics Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan 2016-2019. Respiratory were collected non-CF bronchiectasis presenting clinics. Microbial cultures using standard methodology. Susceptibility testing interpreted Clinical Laboratory Standard Institute criteria. A total 345 positive 160 evaluated. most frequent organisms Pseudomonas aeruginosa (n=209) Hemophilus influenzae (n=40) Staphylococcus aureus (n=24). High rates resistance found all these pathogens. Proportion strains resistant ciprofloxacin, imipenem, ceftazidime piperacillin-tazobactam 27.1%, 16.8%, 14.8% 13.1% respectively. 65% cotrimoxazole ciprofloxacin 66.7% methicillin. against commonly used antimicrobials is concern highlight need for urgent community level interventions improve clinical outcome patients.

Outcome of Cystic Fibrosis in Patients with Bronchiectasis
Introduction: Bronchiectasis is a common problem in children especially under 5 years. Early diagnosis of disease and its causes could be useful in early treatment and preventing probable complications. This study aimed at evaluating the cystic fibrosis (CF) in patients with bronchiectasis. Methods: In a cross-sectional study, 374 children with bronchiectasis were studied. The diagnosis was ma...
متن کاملMaintaining Respiratory Health in Cystic Fibrosis Patients
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disease that primarily affects the lungs and the digestive system, however, it also affects a number of other organs and systems. More than 90% of mortality of CF patients is due to lung complications. Healthy lungs are important for a long life for people with CF, We will discuss two important topics for maintaining respiratory health. Chronic use of drug...

Bronchiectasis is characterized by irreversible widening of the medium-sized airways, with inflammation, chronic bacterial infection and destruction of the bronchial walls. Exercise or inspiratory muscle training may improve quality of life and exercise endurance in people with non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis. Prolonged-use antibiotics improve clinical response rates, but may not reduce exac...

Background Pulmonary involvement is the main cause of mortality in cystic fibrosis (CF). Airway clearance techniques are non-pharmacological complement options for CF patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the short-term outcome of airway cleaning treatment in patients with cystic fibrosis in a children's hospital. Materials and Methods This clinical trial study conducted on 40 CF pati...
