Research on Global Optimal Energy Management Strategy of Agricultural Hybrid Tractor Equipped with CVT

This paper presents a proposed global optimal energy management strategy based on dynamic programming to enhance the consumption efficiency of an agricultural hybrid tractor that is equipped with continuously variable transmission (CVT). Firstly, using diesel-electric parallel as research object, tractor-rotary tillage coupling dynamics model constructed. Secondly, torque and speed motor, diesel engine, CVT ratio control variables, state charge (SOC) power battery variable, goal minimizing total whole machine, established. Finally, field operation measured data injected into MATLAB simulation model, experiments are carried out verify effectiveness strategy. The results show compared power-following strategy, can make engine electric motor work in area, effectively reduce cost during operations. Under condition rotary tillage, decreased by 16.89%.
