Impact damage characteristics and compression after edge-on impact (CAEI) strength of CFRP laminates were experimentally investigated. with various thicknesses stacking sequences prepared. tests a constant energy level performed using the special fixtures. The damaged areas their shapes on evaluated an ultrasonic C-scanning machine. It was observed that thickness affected delamination shape, which expressed by longitudinal (w) transverse-direction (d) extensions. propagated in direction when thinner. After C-scope observations delamination, performed. CAEI degraded shape factor (w/d) increased. A correlation between increased volume also impact.
